Hello, I seem to have weevils that hang out around my window and drapes in the living area (I live in a condo). I first started seeing them a couple of years ago when I purchased new drapes. I thought I got rid of them because I hadn’t seen them in a while however, I rearranged my furniture the other day, still didn’t see any, but today there are about ten of them, dead around the window sill and one buried in the pleating up by the rod. I should mention that I just realized that my windows are leaking and need to be resealed. They’re annoying and disgusting, help! How can I get rid of them?
There are a wide range of weevils that can get active in a condo. Some nest in food, others in fabric and some can live in plants. Without knowing just what species you have active, it could be tough to eliminate them quickly. But here are some suggestions on how you can go about getting this problem resolved.
First, having adult weevils congregate around a window is normal and doesn’t mean the problem is focused in this area. But it could be. On several occasions, I’ve seen plants just outside a window can get infested and from the plants, the weevils can move onto the structure and then through windows and door frames to get inside. If you think they’re coming from outside, get some CYONARA RTS and spray the exterior of the condo unit, the infested plants, etc. This should resolve the matter quickly.

Now since many weevils come from the kitchen area, you need to look thoroughly in your pantry and any cabinet spaces. And if you find them in these areas, treat with PHANTOM AEROSOL. This is an odorless spray that goes on “dry” and is safe for use in kitchen cabinets where food and dishes are stored. It will work on a wide range of insects and should be applied around windows, door frames and pretty much where ever you see activity.

Lastly, if you find or think the weevils might be nesting on furniture or carpeting, get some PERM 10 and NYLAR. Mix these up in a PUMP SPRAYER and treat these surfaces at the rate of 1 gallon of mixed product per 800 square feet of carpent/furniture surface.
