If you’re dealing with any of these following pests, DO NOT CAULK INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOME UNTIL YOU SOLVE THE PROBLEM!
SPRINGTAILS, CLOVER MITES, PSOCIDS, BOOKLICE, ANTS and TERMITES are but just a few of the pests that will be thriving if not nesting in these spaces.
SO WHY SHOULDN’T YOU CAULK THEM TIGHT?
The reason here is simple: ALL OF THE CRACKS, GAPS AND CREVICES WHERE YOU WILL BE APPLYING THE CAULK NEED TO BE TREATED FIRST!
Many pests love these spaces and will readily move in around doors, windows and under home siding. No doubt these areas should be caulked every year or two if they are separating (which is normal for any home). But do yourself a favor and first, POWER INJECT these spaces before you seal them.
As for inside the home; caulking should only be used for cosmetic reasons. NEVER CAULK TO SEAL OUT INSECTS! This will prove self defeating.
Since all of the pests listed above (and many others not mentioned) will want to live in the cracks, crevices, voids and spaces you’ll be caulking, definitely treat them all too before sealing off these easy to use treatment ports. And
NEVER SEAL ELECTRIC OUTLETS, AIRVENTS, around the base of LIGHT FIXTURES or BASEBOARDS!
CAULKING THESE GAPS WILL PREVENT YOU FROM THE ACCESS YOU’LL NEED TO GET RID OF THEM FOR GOOD!
So if you’re seeing them out in the open, that’s not where they want to be. These pests will “come out” of these spots for food, like ants for example, but the small ones like Clover Mites and Springtails only come out when they’re numbers have grown to big levels and they need to expand where they can live.
Now if you got our Power Injector and take the time to thoroughly treat all those gaps before you seal? That’s fine. But sealing them inside will only lead to a long time issue that will be very difficult to resolve because ALL OF THESE PESTS NEST BEHIND THE AREA’S YOU’LL BE CAULKING and so you don’t want to block your access for proper treatments.
