BEST HOSE END SPRAYER
Our GREEN TOPPED 20 GALLON HOSE END uses the power of your garden hose to siphon out a tank mix you create to apply insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers and more. This model has a removable nozzle so you can spray as far if not further then your garden hose can normally reach.
SKY-HY NO PUMP SPRAYER
This model relies on air pressure in a tank that can safely hold 100 psi. This high pressure allows you to spray up over 30 feet and with the included 12 foot hose, over 40 feet when leaving the tank on the ground and elevating yourself up on something like a ladder. We have optional 8 foot long lances and a 25 foot hose length available as well for even more height when needed.

I have a horse facility. The manure goes into an open spreader which just breeds flies. Last year, I covered the spreader with a tarp and reduced the flies by at least 60%. This year, I have constructed a low tent capping the spreader. I want to fog the area under the tent from time to time to kill the biting flies that are sitting and evolving within the tent.
I was considering the Aerosol Machine 3000, but not sure if the canisters would kill the flies. So I thought about using Onslaught and just pumping the mist under the tent from time to time via a nozzle/hose system running along the top of the tent.
What would be the best way to solve this problem? The area to be sprayed is 10’X4′.
I have 3 Agri-Sprayer nozzles along the top of the tent right now. It would be easy to couple a hose from a fogger/sprayer to them so I could spray without lifting the canopy. I just need it to get the job done and reduce the number of biting flies here. Thank you!

There is a good chance the Aerosol Machine 3000 could be configured to handle the job. I say this because the label for any of the refills we carry claim that a can going off once an hour will be able to control an air space up to 6,000 cubic feet.
Now if your tent is 10 feet wide by 10 feet long by 4 feet tall, that would be just 400 cubic feet. So if our pyrethrin based Metered Insecticide refill will control flies in an area 25 feet long by 25 wide by 10 feet tall, an area like the one I believe you have would be easier to manage since its so much smaller and the spray could be applied inside the tent thus enabling it to work better compared to being sprayed into an open air space subject to direct sunlight and wind.
But if it turns out that having the machine go off just once an hour is not strong enough to keep the flies controlled, you could adjust the Aerosol Machine 3000 to go off more frequently. In fact you could set it to go off every 30 minutes or every 15 minutes or even more frequently.
And at some point I’m sure it could handle the task but this setting will have to be “found” through some simple experimentation.
With that being said, pumping something like Onslaught over the manure would no doubt provide longer control because unlike the pyrethrin in the Metered Insecticide refills, Onslaught provides what we call a residual. I don’t think this residual could last more than a week or two in the kind of conditions found in your tent but no doubt Onslaught will last a lot longer compared to just the pyrethrin based aerosol option.
So all things considered, maybe the use of both would be the best way to go? This way you could do a treatment with the Onslaught when you notice a surge in flies due to excessive heat or some other condition.
And then when things are fairly moderate fly wise and you’re not having a noticeable problem, using nothing but the aerosol machine might do the trick and be all you need.

I am looking for a sprayer to apply deer retardants to the plants in my yard. The nozzle gets clogged in all the pump type sprayers I have used. Would the hose end sprayer GILMOUR DIAL-A-MIX 499 (287526) clog also?
admin says
The Dial A Mix would not be a good option. I say this because it works by sucking concentrate out of its holding tank and because of the nature of most deer repellents, this sprayer would develop issues over time. But we have two options which will work fine.
It just so happens I use our Deer Off to repel deer from my pansies and roses. It works great. But it can clog sprayers. And after trying several different sprayers we have, I have learned of two options we offer where this can be managed.
So if you would like to use a pump sprayer, the Chapin Eliminator will do the job fine. I notice if we mix up one gallon and spray it over a 1-2 week period, the tip will need to be flushed prior to mixing up the next gallon. But this is easy to do and only takes a minute so its no big deal.

I also learned our 6 Gallon Hose End Sprayer can handle this task easily. I typically will mix up enough for 1-2 gallons of spray and using my garden hose, I can treat all the bushes needing protection in very little time.
