We have a bad springtail problem and found online that your site seems to know what has to be done. Our service company that sprays is not helping us and they said there is nothing they can do that we have too much moisture which isn’t true. Our inside humid level is low, really low but springtails just keep coming out of the baseboards. Our house is a slab which I think is probably not great but I’m hopeful you can solve our problem. Can we pay for your services to come out and treat? We’re desperate and will pay travel expense too. We’re in North Carolina so not too far from your location. If not, anyone you can recommend?

So to answer your question, we don’t do the work and we’re not aware of any service company that wants to take on a home with a springtail problem so no one to recommend either.

As for the results you’re getting with your service company? We know that most pest control service companies are either not prepared to do what’s needed or don’t want to because of the time and patience it will require. Pests like springtails and clover mites, not to mention psocids or book lice, will require frequent treatments to reach their hidden nests. These spaces can include but not be limited to areas under baseboards, wall voids, under home siding, in attics or crawl spaces as well as air vents, tubs and showers. All of these locations will require surgical like treatments using our POWER INJECTOR and products like MAXXTHOR and BITHOR.
When the required time is taken to get these sites properly treated, you will end the problem because you’ll be treating these pests WHERE THEY ARE NESTING!
CONSIDER HIRING A HANDYMAN!
But this means you’ll either have to do the work OR hire a local handy man to do the work for you. Armed with our products, equipment and insight, hiring a handyman is often the most efficient and rewarding way to proceed (based on feedback from our customers).
So what should you do now?
First, educate yourself a bit by reading some of our articles and watching some video. Next, sleep on it a few days. Evaluate the problem more and decide if you’re up to the task or if you’ll do better hiring a handyman.
We also invite you to send pictures of the home, one for each side, taken on the outside so that we can see the full side view per picture. Add to those pictures a few more of the baseboards giving you the issues. Include relative data like the following:
- When was the home built?
- How long have you been living there?
- Is the home built on a slab or does it have a crawl space or basement? And if it has a basement, is it finished or unfinished? If a crawl space, is it 1-2 feet in height or 4-5-6 feet and easy to enter and navigate?
- What kind of siding is on the home? Stucco? Aluminum? Vinyl? Masonite? Cedar Shakes? Hardy Board? Bead Board? Also, is it above grade or buried in either soil or cement at any part around the home? If yes, please send pictures.
- Is the problem mainly on exterior walls? If not, where else in the home? Bathrooms? Showers? Tubs? Sinks?
- How many levels is the home and do you have them on one level, two levels or all levels?
Now if you are thinking this is something you can tackle, send us some pictures along with the information we mention above. Most any problem can be resolved with just the two concentrates and our Power Injector along with some MAXXTHOR GRANULES assuming you have dirt on any side of the home.
Once we get your pictures and information updated, we’ll respond with details on what think you need to focus on and how to proceed. Most everyone see’s immediate improvement and if they’re reaching the nests of this pest, can get rid of them for good after 2-3 months.
