LEMON AIR PLUS or SANNI-SHINE PLUS INSECTICIDE “DOWN THE DRAIN TREATMENT” 128 OZ

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Lemon smelling agent designed to control malodor, mold, fungus and insects down your drain. Originally came out back in 2020 to deal with bacteria and virus control in hospitals, motels, etc. Labeling for use down drains has always been included and currently how most of it is used around the country.

Use as needed during the week to control bad odor or insect activity.

This short video (less than 1 minute) shows how easy it is to use.

YouTube Video

WHERE TO USE IT: Drain lines from the kitchen to the bathroom to the basement including the ones found in sinks, showers, tubs, floors and food disposals. French drains too. Enz A Bac is safe for use down drains that run to city sewer or septic systems (will not affect their internal environments).

This video is more comprehensive and detailed.

YouTube Video

RATE OF APPLICATION: 2-4 ounces per gallon gallon of water and use 1/2 gallon per drain in the evening before you retire. Lemon Air will be active for several hours overnight when left to sit and sealing the drain line after pouring a mixture down the sink is ideal when possible. Normal use will be once a week but it can be used as often as needed so if you are finding activity daily, use it daily until the activity stops. And start with 4 oz per gallon to get control of the issue if you have activity.

After 2-3 weeks, when target pests are gone, 2 oz per gallon once a week will usually be enough. Will control drain pests like flies, gnats, mites, moths, ants, crickets, springtails and more. Generally used in conjunction with NO SURVIVORS ENZ A BAC.

SANNI-SHINE PLUS

RATE OF APPLICATION: 1-2 ounces per gallon gallon of water and use 1/2 gallon per drain in the evening before you retire for average problems. Use up to 4 oz per gallon for “bad” problems. Will control drain pests like flies, gnats, mites, moths, ants, crickets, springtails and more. Generally used in conjunction with NO SURVIVORS ENZ A BAC.

NO SURVIVORS ENZ A BAC

And don’t forget to apply the No Survivors once a week to take away the organic matter in the pipes which feed all these pests.

This short video (less than 60 seconds long) explains how to use our No Survivors and how easily it is to apply weekly:

YouTube Video

HOW TO APPLY:  Run warm to “semi-hot” water for 20 seconds and then add the Survivors by pouring the 2-3 oz directly down the drain as the warm water drains. Alternatively you can add 2-3 oz to 16-32 oz of warm water and stir the mixture for 5 seconds then pour it down the drain.

Would this hurt a drain pipe if left in there for a few days?

      Heather,

NO. If anything it will have a better chance to purge unwanted insects and smells from the system. There is nothing “corrosive” about this item so it poses no hazard to the drain pipes regardless of the material being used (copper, steel, pvc, etc.).

          Heather,

No Survivors won’t “hurt” anything other than the organic matter and waste that might be present. Its not corrosive like acid, bleach, etc. so even if left for a few days will not impact drain lines.

It’s fine for use in septic systems as well as french drains, drains to city lines or sumps.

I bought this product to help with some issues I have been having with camel crickets. We bought a new house and noticed some Camel Crickets on floors in the evening or early morning. Pretty creepy. We have had the house spray inside and out by a professional so we have made a lot of progress but I wanted to clean out the drains as well. I used Pequa to clean the organic matter first and then used this product to further clean and kill any bugs that may be lingering. Really seems to be working. Probably not a bad thing to do with drains even if you are not having some bug issues. Good company. Quick and easy. They also provide some good videos on camel cricket treatment.

We have cave (camel) crickets and i think they are coming from the sump pump. Would this product be safe for the sump pump and to sit in there till it drains out due to rain?

      Lita,

This product was made specifically for use down drains and won’t hurt pvc, copper or other metal nor will it impact the pump, pump seals, hoses or housing of the pump. Remember, you’re only mixing 2-4 oz per of the material per gallon of water so essentially its water being applied with enough “insecticidal” action to kill off target pests like crickets, springtails, roaches and more. But it does this NOT being “corrosive” so no need to be concerned about letting it sit. In fact the longer it sits, the better results you’ll get.

I’m giving this product two thumbs up. Worked very well. I do suggest watching the bugspray.com video as well as reading the directions. The odor was a little strong at first. I did leave it undisturbed over night with the drains covered. By the next morning after a rinse the odor was gone. Just shut the doors of, say, your bathroom and do cover the drains.

      Michael,
Thanks for the positive feedback! Moving forward, if you find the Lemon Fresh smell of Lemon Air is too strong, consider getting the alternate option Sanni Shine. Its odorless but used the same way:

I waited to see if your product actually works. Every morning I woke up to find these little critters in my sink and counter. I’m happy to report that I haven’t seen any more in my house for 3 days now! Thank you!!! I have seen them on my patio so I sprayed your other products under my sink and all the way around the perimeter of the house. This seems to be working as well. I know these critters are all over and I will need to stay after them. But I really appreciate not seeing them in our kitchen.

      James,
So the short answer is yes. In general, its an odor neutralizer AND pest killer. Generally its used down the drain BUT if you have the need to purge your machine of some bad odor or believe there is some kind of pest in the drain line of the machine, you can run a short cycle using the Lemon air in the water. Remember, its not for clothing so you’d want to do this with just water.

      Megan,
If you check below the Maxxthor (which we can’t ship to your state) as well as the Lemon Air (which we can’t ship to your state) in our Springtail article, you’ll see we offer Pest-Xempt Concentrate. It can be used both outside in place of the Maxxthor and then inside for down the drain applications.

      https://bugspray.com/article/springtail#FIRST_USE_NO_SURVIVORS_DOWN_THE_DRAIN

So visit the link above. You can get the No Survivors and then below it will be Lemon Air and then next, the Xempt.

      https://bugspray.com/exempt/liquid/pest-xempt-concentrate

All the rest of the products like the outside Granules, inside Aerosol and Spray we can send too. All the details are in our Springtail article:

I purchased both the Enz a Bac and Lemon Air. Should I use these products only in the drains where Springtails are present or should I pre-treat in all the sinks and drains in the house?

      Isabelle,
In general, you should treat at least as many sinks as you find have activity and then remember that even remote sinks can get the same problem. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to proceed. In fact we have many customers who treat them all on a regular basis and then some or treat the main ones weekly and the others ones monthly, etc. The bottom line is that sinks are a big gathering point for this pest and so being pro-active in as many of their common nest sites is best.

I used Lemon Air on the drain. I woke up to find about 7 dead springtails in the bathtub. Is this normal? If I’m seeing bugs daily, is it okay to use lemon air daily? Thank you in advance!

      Matt,
Use it every couple of days until you aren’t seeing any. And the next time you use it, set the plug in the sink so the water won’t drain and then add 1″ of water. The next morning if you find springtails in the water, it will mean they’re coming from above, not from down the drain. This symptom means you’ll need to treat the cabinet/sink area as we detail here:

      https://bugspray.com/kitchen-sink

Seeing springtails in the sink the following morning does not mean they’re coming “up” from the drain line. You should be treating it like you are BUT don’t ignore the area around the sink. Often times that’s what gets infested and needs treatments too.

Oh, and plan on using it every 2-3 days until you aren’t seeing any more.

Hi, how long will the lemon air solution remain effective once mixed? I’d like to put some in a spray bottle for use around tubs and sinks but only if it will last. (I’m already using as directed down drains along with no survivors.)

      Angela,
It depends on the spray bottle. If it’s sealed, there will be no air exchange meaning it will be air tight so it can’t “release” and break down. If you were using our Power Injector, it would be sealed and could very well remain at full mixed potency for months. But common spray bottles, like say one for Windex, generally aren’t sealed and so the mixture would begin to break down hours after it’s mixed, just like it does when applied down the sink.

So how long could it last in a typical spray bottle? We don’t know but would guess 1-2 weeks if you’re lucky? And if you’re wondering why something like Windex can be good for a long time; its because they include a lot of “stabilizers”. Those ingredients are needed for anything “ready to spray” off the shelf. But our products don’t contain them (we’re not a fan of stabilizers) and that is very much by design. That said, the one main draw back of not using stabilizers is that anything you mix up should be used within a few days or else it will break down. This is covered in our short article here:

    Hi,

We bought the Enz A Bac and Sanni Shine and will try them this week. Do drains have to be covered after using the Sanni Shine? We don’t have drain covers for most of our drains. And we have a cat. Thank you!

      Brittany,
So first, drains do NOT have to be covered to use Enz A Bac or Sanni Shine. As for any pet concerns; if you’re pouring the treatment down the drain, there won’t be any out in the open for them to consume, touch or inhale so no hazards will be presented.

      Ruth,
If you watch the video above, you’ll see the right way to use it. Basically you should add 2 oz of Lemon Air to 64 oz (1/2 gallon) of water, mix for 10 seconds and then pour down the drain and plug the drain for the evening (at least 6 hours; no more than 8 hours needed). The next morning you can run hot water through it if you want but that is not important. In fact there is no need to do anything meaning as soon as you want to run water to rinse dishes, wash your hands, etc., you will be good to go. In other words, there is no need to waste water by running it just for the purpose or letting it all drain.
