SPRAYER DESCRIPTION: The Power Injector is a 32 oz Tank fitted with an Aerosol producing sprayer. It’s very easy to use and allows the user to make their own aerosols. The sprayer comes with 4 nozzles; one for a fine mist, one for a heavy mist, one for a “jet” or “pinstream” spray and one for the red injection straws seen in the picture to the right.
The tank can be powered up to 90 psi safely so when needed, you can use it to reach deep into wall voids, wood beams and behind home siding with power never before available. You can also create mixtures using either water or BASE OIL so no longer are you restricted or limited to “old fashioned” actives found in all “ready to spray” aerosols.
*** USE AN ELECTRIC TIRE PUMP TO CHARGE THE SPRAYER IN LESS THAN 15 SECONDS ***
BENEFITS:
- SAVE $ – Now you can eliminate the need to keep buying costly aerosols like MULTIPURPOSE or FS MP. The savings are DRAMATIC (see below)
- CREATE BETTER MIXTURES – Now you can mix and apply products like BITHOR, XEMPT EC and MAXXTHOR from a can.
- INCREDIBLE PENETRATING POWER – The Power Injector can handle up to 90psi safely and with the help of BASE OIL, you can penetrate WALL VOIDS and HOME SIDING like never before.
WHAT’S INCLUDED: The Power Injector comes with everything you see in the picture to the right:
- Aerosol Spraying Top
- 4 Nozzles including a fine mist, a heavy mist, a “jet” stream laser like spray and crack/crevice straw nozzle that fits the Injection Tube and the included 10 straws
- 50″ Injection Tube for deep treatments
- Handy Can Spray Attachment
- Washers, Replacement Valves and special Tool for valve replacement
- Two 10 ml Eye Droppers (one for Water Based Concentrates and one for Oil Based Concentrates)
- Steel Tank
This short video summarizes what the Power Injector will do and why using it in place of any aerosol can makes sense.

This next video does a “side by side” comparison of the Power Injector vs a can of Aerosol. As you will see, the Power Injector is so much more powerful, it will penetrate deeper and in turn, solve tough pest problems.

EASY SETUP: The Power Injector is super easy to use.
- TEST SPRAYER FIRST! Use nothing but water for your first use to get acquainted with the sprayer.
- Next, secure the Sprayer top. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! The top will easily seal using nothing but your hands to twist it tight. If you didn’t tighten it enough, air will leak out when you charge the tank which is normal and won’t be a danger! And its better to not tighten it enough compared to over tightening it which can damage the seal. Light to medium effort should be all you need to secure the top.
- Once secure, take the sprayer outside and use any standard tire pump to charge the tank. It only takes a few pumps using any bicycle tire air pump. You can also use an air compressor or a compact hand held tire pump like the one seen in our video.
- Charge to 20 psi and try spraying with different nozzles so you can find one that fits your application need.
- If using 50 psi or less, expect to pressurize the tank more than once to empty if filled with 16 oz of mixture. At 60 psi or more, one tank of air will empty the tank without having to add more air (when the tank has 16 oz of less of mixed material to spray).
- *** IF YOUR SYSTEM IS NOT STAYING PRESSURIZED, VISIT OUR POWER INJECTOR TROUBLE SHOOTING PAGE ***
EASY MAINTENANCE: After use, be sure to empty the tank and then add either 8 oz of water or 2 oz of oil (depending on what you last used) and pump it through the system by adding 20 lbs of pressure, taking the sprayer outside and spraying it against your homes foundation. Water solutions can clog the system if you do not properly rinse the tank AND pump at least 8 oz through them after every use. And if you are “over dosing” the tank mix, this risk increases. Oil based solutions do not clog as easily but still pump some through to insure it keeps clear.
This “cleaning” mixture poses no hazard but could have some “bottom of the tank” contaminants added so it’s best if you spray it outside. The Power Injector comes with a limited 60 day warranty that covers everything BUT clogs. Be sure to rinse your system after every use to avoid clogging which are not covered under the warranty!
After the tank is empty, disconnect it and let the sprayer sit in safe storage. The next you go to use it, either use the previously used tank for Bithor/Water or a second tank for Maxxthor/Oil.
When finishing with a Maxxthor/Oil mixture, purge using 1 oz of oil and store the sprayer safely, removed from the tank.
Once the sprayer has been blowing “air” and is removed from the tank, you can use it for either solution the next time you want to treat.
*** If your nozzle starts to “sputter”, the nozzle OR the valve stem (the white piece the nozzle sits on) may be clogged. Try using a different nozzle to see if this is the issue. Clogged nozzles may be cleaned by soaking or using a “can of pressurized air”. Many cans of air come with the same red straw used on the Power Injector. If you have such a can, you can connect the Power Injectors straw nozzle to the end of the straw on your canned air and effectively “blow” out the clog. MORE ON UNCLOGGING THE POWER INJECTOR HERE ***
REMEMBER: BITHOR ONLY MIXES WITH WATER! MAXXTHOR CAN BE MIXED WITH WATER OR BASE OIL.
As for which to use? Start with Maxxthor/Water outside and Bithor/Water inside. If you need more penetrating power inside, you can use Maxxthor/Water inside too but it will have a slight odor and why we recommend starting with Bithor/Water.
As for “penetrating” power, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most penetrating, Bithor/Water will penetrate about 4-5. Maxxthor/Water will be a 6-7 and Maxxthor/Base Oil, 8-10.
Ordinary aerosols (like FS MP), will be at level 1 due to their formulation and lack of internal pressure.
BITHOR: To create a Bithor mix, add 16 oz of water to the spray tank and 1/8-1/4 oz (3.75/7.5 ml) of Bithor.
For surface spraying baseboards or walls using one of the two “misting” nozzles, the recommended PSI is 30-40 lbs. 1 tank of mixture (16 oz) will cover 125 sq/ft of carpeting, walls, etc.
For crack and crevice treatments using the straw, start with low pressure, like 15-20 psi and move up from there. If the treatments are staying in place without backsplash, try using more pressure (5-10 lb higher to get deeper penetration). At this rate (equal to 1.78 oz per gallon of water), now you can create cans of Bithor for JUST $.75 PER 16 oz CAN!
BITHOR WILL NOT MIX WITH BASE OIL! ONLY USE COMPATIBLE PRODUCTS WITH BASE OIL OR ELSE THE POWER INJECTOR OR THE NOZZLES WILL CLOG PERMANENTLY !!
MAXXTHOR EC: To create a Maxxthor mix, add 16 of water or BASE OIL to the spray tank and then 1-2 ml of Maxxthor EC. This is a very small amount and why we include the eye dropper which can measure out 10 ml. The cost of 2 ml of Maxxthor is less than $.25. Base Oil costs $7.50 for 16 oz so now you can create cans of Maxxthor EC for LESS THAN $8.00 PER 16 oz CAN! This is less than 1/2 the cost of FS MP AND yet it will be STRONGER and ODORLESS!

This is awesome. Now that there is a way to get Maxxthor into crevices inside and it can be diluted in either water OR base oil, when would you recommend using Bithor instead? Only for wider scale surface treatments?
Tech Support says
Mike,
The way it looks, the Power Injector tool will make treatments not only less costly and more powerful, less confusing! Here’s why.
Lets say you have pests inside and outside. Your best options in the past would be Maxxthor Granules and Spray for outside and for inside, Bithor and at least 1 Aerosol for cracks and crevices. And if you had small pests that like to nest deep in wall voids or behind home siding, you’d probably end up needing Xempt Dust, a duster and then for inside, a Mini Mister. But with the Power Injector, things get a lot easier. It will eliminate the need for these other tools and chemicals.
So if you get the Power Injector and use it for the same pests as in the example above, you’d only need the Maxxthor Granules, EC and Bithor. Why? Because the Power Injector will let you mist Bithor just like you might with the Mini Mister. This means you can use it to lightly mist sensitive areas you might not want to spray with a pump sprayer. But it can also be used to inject cracks and crevices in place of FS MP if your target pest needed that application. And you’ll get to choose if you want to use Bithor, Maxxthor or Xempt EC – all of which will be much stronger compared to the actives found in cans like FS MP or Multipurpose.
As for your question; you are spot on in line with what you are thinking. First, you can now use Maxxthor with water or Base Oil (with Base Oil elevating Maxxthor to be the ultimate weapon). But you’ll still need Bithor. First, it is truly odorless making it best for inside. Plus it has all the proper labeling Maxxthor for inside does not have. This means for anyone with pests in their carpet or on furniture, they can use the Power Injector with the misting nozzles to lightly mist surfaces evenly, without making a mess. Pretty much just like the Mini Mister will do.
But Bithor is also best for any other surface like baseboards and walls too. Here’s why. Maxxthor is repellent. For outside treatments, that’s awesome because it will both quickly kill and repel insects so they don’t want to come back onto your home. This means less will come inside AND that means less will move behind home siding. And with Xempt EC, even less still.
But you should not use Maxxthor inside as a surface spray. Remember, Bithor is non-repelling, which is polar opposite compared to Maxxthor. This is why its the best option for use inside as a surface spray. So when used on baseboards, walls, carpets, etc, pests won’t know its there. This means pests will move over it picking some up, sharing it, etc. This would not happen with Maxxthor which would only scatter pests. In the end, Bithor will effectively stop anything from spreading throughout living spaces and why it will still be part of the equation. But for cracks and crevices, Bithor could be used if you had a “mild” issue and wanted nothing but a water based, odorless option. And it would be better compared to FS MP or any other crack and crevice aerosol since the actives in Bithor are better.
But if you needed something stronger, then Maxxthor EC with water will reach is better using the Power Injector due to the power you can use. And if you mix it with Base Oil? Now it will reach over 5 times as deep compared to any oil based aerosol! This is a huge improvement and literally a game changer. And if that’s not strong enough? Xempt EC is still available.
Lastly and what I would call a “side note”; we are getting questions about when to use Base Oil. The answer here is all about where you are treating and if the problem is ongoing. So if you have an ongoing issue and its coming from a wall void or from around a door frame AND you’ve been injecting cracks and crevices with something like FS MP, it’s probably time for Xempt EC and Base Oil. Why? Because if pests are coming back after using FS MP, it means you are not creating enough of a buffer zone. Pests like termites, powderpost beetles, springtails, clover mites, carpenter ants and some other will live INSIDE wood beams. And though FS MP can penetrate wood up to 1″, Base Oil can penetrate over 2″. This means it will move deeper into wood members to reach nesting pests better and deeper. Add to that the extra PSI of the Power Injector and our tests show Base Oil and Maxxthor EC injected into the same cracks or crevices as FS MP will end up moving in over 5 times deeper. This extra penetration means there is a much greater chance to reach your target pest AND with Maxxthor as the active (a much stronger one compared to any other aerosol), you should now be able to eradicate your issue instead of just managing it.
Many of our customers have pests that are living hidden inside structural members like 2×4’s, 2×6’s, under sill plate or behind home siding. And up till now, reaching them has been challenging. But with the Power Injector, there is hope!

Hello! I will be ordering the power injector to battle our ongoing issue with Springtails.
We also have a pool with a deck where I’ve battled issues for the last couple years. With your products and advice they were better last year, still not gone though. I’m pulling out the big guns this year!
I plan to do all the steps you’ve listed for inside and outside but still have a couple questions..
What is the BEST treatment for attic and crawl space? Spray/Mist or Dust?
Also, I see them on our deck a lot.. we have sprayed but they always come back. Any suggestions?
Last, we want to plant flowers but I’m positive they are in the soil.. can I add granules to the soil or will that kill anything I plant?
Thanks in advance!!!
Tech Support says
Melissa,
So first, the Power Injector will help you reach all the nooks, cracks and crevices where these small pests will thrive. For example, just spraying your deck won’t reach them in all the “joints” where they like to live. And springtails can easily migrate “into” wood, again, at joints. Armed with the Power Injector, you should take the time to inject Maxxthor/Base Oil or better yet, Xempt EC/Base Oil to every joint you can reach. And remember, the planks that lay on top of the supporting joists are usually a hot spot. Basically the section that’s resting on the joist underneath. It might sound tedious treating all those “runs” but if watch to see where they’re most active, you can usually spot treat within a few feet and take them out.
As for attics; Dusting with Xempt Dust along the outer edges, where the fascia boards and gutters usually are mounted, will usually be the most important. But while you’re up there, see if they’re living in the supporting joists that hold up the roof deck and shingles. There can be pocket nests up there too so give that a good inspection to see. We also know that pulling back insulation – especially above any ceiling lights, fans or air vents – and dusting under the insulation can end them from entering the living areas.

https://bugspray.com/mosquitoes-in-my-gutters
Lastly, our Maxxthor products for outside, both the spray and the granules, and won’t hurt any plants. In fact they were created to help “save” and preserve your plants from being attacked by pests. In other words, when used properly, they won’t harm or injure anything you plant but instead, help to keep it safe.
But Xempt EC is as safe as it gets. Made with Essential Plant Oils, there is nothing more environmentally safe that can be applied on and around the home if this is your main concern.

Hello,
I purchased the power injector and have a question. I purchased Bithor and base oil to use with it. Is it more effective to mix the Bithor with water or base oil? And can I even use the base oil with Bithor? Or can I only use the base oil with Maxxthor?
I opted to use Bithor instead of Maxxthor because I don’t want my house to smell like Maxxthor. I’m planning to spray into wall voids.
Thanks,
Jason
Tech Support says
Jason,
Great question. And we finally have some “data” from tests that have been in progress for the past couple of years so now we can answer this more accurately.
So first and foremost, Bithor is NOT compatible with Base Oil. So in any sprayer you can only mix it with water.
Second, customers are reporting that using Xempt EC and Base Oil inside is not bad odor wise and that it clearly works best. When mixed with water, any of the listed concentrates below will be more volatile. This means they will release into the air creating odor AND as expected, not lasting as long.
This is noticeable outside – especially if you use a hose end sprayer. Again, these odors are insignificant and most people (over 50%) report it’s gone within a day so it won’t linger.
Now when Base Oil is employed, the actives don’t seem to “release” as quickly. We suspect the oil contains the solvents and blends them even more so they can’t create odor molecules to escape.
Something else to realize is that you will be using very little AND it will be “under” baseboards, around window frames and under door saddles so not much of a chance for any odor to find ways to escape – especially when applied to porous wood.
On a side note; we have heard from many customers who have migrated to the Power Injector after using FS MP and having to deal with bad smells that would not fade. Some had to use T.O.N. to get rid of lingering odors. This is not happening with Maxxthor or Xempt EC.
Now lets talk “internal” coverage (the spaces you’re treating with the Power Injector).
Our tests show that a can of FS MP can effectively spray “out” about 3 feet when set on the ground (we have videos on these tests we’ll be posting soon). Setting our Our Power Injector at the same position and powered at 60 psi, it will spray out about 15 feet. This is 5x factor. At 90 psi, it can reach out over 20 feet and even deliver 25 feet for some of the stream. And with the Sky Hy sprayer fitted with an injection needle? Over 20 feet! To be clear, we do not recommend injecting with this kind of power but it’s good knowing its available if needed.
So what is the “expected” penetration when using our suggested options when mixed with water vs oil?
So with FS MP, its about 1 inch. Maybe a little more with a soft wood and a little less with a hardwood (this is true with all mixtures listed below).
With Bithor and water, about 3-4 inches. This insures you can get underneath a 2×4 that is sitting on cement, like a sill plate. But there is no “lateral” movement, or at least not significant movement, like you’ll get when injecting with Maxxthor/Base Oil (watch the Base Oil video to understand what this means).
Now when we go to mixtures with Base Oil, we see a big change in penetration.
Maxxthor and Oil can go 5-6 inches (depending on how “tight” the area is you’re injecting). And there is significant benefit from the lateral movement. This allows it to soak through wood and effectively treat all sides adding coverage to areas you’re not directly spraying. This can prove to be critical for preventing their return/long term control.
And with Xempt EC and Oil, it’s even better. We’re seeing 7-9″ ranges so clearly this is the best option overall.
So here is a scale designed to set a treatment “value” that combines penetration and repellency. We mention repellency because ultimately, these treatments are trying to create a safe “buffer” zone that will be pest free. The bigger this zone, the less likely any of these pests will find their way inside.
So in this example, we’ll say that 1 is the least penetrating and repelling and the value of 10 is the deepest and most repellent.
First, the penetrating value.
FS MP = 1-2
Bithor/Water: 3-4
Maxxthor/Water: 3-4
Maxxthor/Base Oil: 5-7
Xempt EC/Water: 6-8
Xempt EC/Base Oil: 9-10
Now repellency values:
Bithor/Water: 0
FS MP: 5-6
Maxxthor/Water: 5-6
Maxxthor/Base Oil: 5-6
Xempt EC/Water: 7-8
Xempt EC/Base Oil: 9-10
To compare these options, let’s add their high value of each together to get a total score.
Bithor scores a 4. As we note over and over, it has no repellency because it’s not noticeable by pests. This means it’s well suited for use on surfaces to help stop anything from spreading. But for injecting, it’s the weakest option.
FS MP scores an 8. It doesn’t have enough power to really penetrate BUT its repellent and so you can get a strong buffer zone. The issue is that the zone is very shallow and so overall, not big enough to help much.
Maxxthor and water score a 10. Though Maxxthor was our best option for awhile, it’s no where near as strong of a repellent compared to Xempt EC. So yes, it’s better than FS MP or Bithor. But if you want to use Maxxthor, mix it with Base Oil.
When mixed with Base Oil, Maxxthor scores a 13. This is generally strong enough to create a wide enough buffer needed to slow invading pests.
And the same is true with Xempt EC. Even with water, Xempt EC scores a 16. This is because the essential oils are just naturally odorous. And when they lock into wood, this feature lasts for years.
Xempt EC with Base Oil is by far the champ here scoring a perfect 20. It naturally penetrates better than anything (probably due to the actives being derived from plants) and it’s odor is by far the strongest repelling to insects – even in faint exposures.
In summary, if you want something odorless that can control anything that moves through it, Bithor is a good option. Yes, you should expect to see pests coming from these common entry points. But if you used enough active, they should die in a few days.
And if you want something stronger so you won’t have to see them, Maxxthor was once your best option but now Xempt EC is top dog. So if you are using Maxxthor to spray home siding and now thinking you need to power inject it, starting with Maxxthor is fine. But if it fails OR if you need to Power Inject inside too, go with Xempt EC. It will provide the biggest buffer zone, last the longest and overall is the best option for these specific treatments.
Hope this helps!
