While visiting your website, you show Maxxthor SG and Maxxthor EC for killing Pillbugs.
Are these the BEST pillbug killers and do I need to buy BOTH of these products?
I have an infestation of these in front of my house and they come on my porch every night. I usually kill several hundred per night, but need to get rid of them permanently.
Please advise the BEST pillbug killer, and I hope it is safe for my 3 dogs.
If you visit any of our pest control articles, you will learn what we’ve determined to be the best bug spray for that bug. In this case, the MAXXTHOR GRANULES and MAXXTHOR SPRAY are by far your best bug spray to eliminate pillbugs. They’re so good they can usually do this with just one application.
That said, you will need both for this pest and why both are listed in our article. The granules will slowly release over 30 days and are designed to get “in” the ground soil where this pest likes to live and breed. The spray is for all the ones up top crawling around looking for new places to live and nest
Think of the granules as the “crack and crevice” treatment designed to target pests hiding in the ground. Conversely, the spray is the “surface treatment” designed to control pillbugs on the ground actively feeding and migrating around looking for new locations to infest.
As for your safety concerns; all of our products are safe for use in and around your home as our SAFETY FIRST PESTICIDE VIDEOS explain. These videos should address any concerns you may have about using pesticides around your home.
On a related note, we’re often asked “what is your best bug spray” or “do we need to use both of these products in your pest control article”. The quick answer here is simple: If you have a current issue, you will generally need multiple tools to get them under control. So if you are visiting our pillbug article because you have them in the yard and on the home? You’ll need our granules and spray.
And if you have millipedes or any other pest in the home? You’ll probably need what we list in our related pest control article for inside the home treatments.
Its kind of like fixing a car after the motor has been damaged if it ran out of engine oil. You would most likely need to do several things which in turn will require many different tools to efficiently service all parts of the motor. In this case, the different bug spray formulations each represent a different tool.
But if you are routinely changing the oil in your car to prevent motor damage, you will probably only need the drain plug socket or wrench to remove the bolt. The oil cap and oil filter can be removed by hand and so just one main tool to do this task for regular maintenance. With insects and regular bug spraying, the same is true. We have a few “one spray fits all” options. But we only advise relying on them to prevent pests. Once you have an active pest problem? You’ll most likely need more than one spray to eliminate the issue.
