Hey folks,
I have 7 trees of various sizes from 40 ft. to 80 ft. tall infected with the Mountain Pine Beetle. I’m wondering if your chemicals will work on them as well as the western pine beetle?
Thanks, Rich
The products listed in our PINE BARK BEETLE article will definitely work. Most people will treat with the MERIT WP if the problem is remedial and they’re looking for the easy, long term control. This is also the treatment method of choice when dealing with several trees.
But if you’ve got a prize tree or two with enough activity to warrant immediate action, get the CYPERMETHRIN and start liquid spraying ASAP to slow the beetles down right away. When combined with the Merit, you should be able to kill any level of mountain pine beetle infestation. Once dead, the tree can be safely removed or if you’re lucky enough, live for some time longer without the risk of spreading the infection.
