I’ve been using maxthor for my springtails and its been working well. Took around 3 weeks of treatments but now we’re not seeing them all over the siding. But ants have been popping up in the yard and when I spray them with maxthor, they die for a few days but keep coming back like magic. What am I doing wrong or is there something else we should use?
For the homes siding, nothing is better than MAXXTHOR EC. It will both kill quickly and repel target pests making it the best treatment for home siding. This way insects know to stay off treated surfaces and will avoid walking around on your home if you keep treatments current and up to date.
And for pests that like to live in cracks and crevices, its the best. Using the POWER INJECTOR, you can inject Maxxthor to reach structural 2×4’s, rim joists and sill plate where the application can last 5-10 years.
That said, these qualities are not the best for pests like ants or other larger insects. They will detect the Maxxthor and avoid it BUT if you have any nesting in the yard or on the home, the Maxxthor can make matters worse. Sure, the initial treatment will kill some. At least it reaches. But their nests will usually be down deep in the ground or buried in the home siding so well you won’t reach them all. And the remaining population will in turn try to “relocate” the nest. This can lead them to move deeper into the ground or worse, inside you your home to living areas. For this reason, if you have active insects in the yard like ants and were thinking about using the Maxxthor, you’ll do a lot better going with PROTHOR.
Prothor is very different from Maxxthor. First, Prothor is water based and built to be completely odorless AND non-repelling. This means target pests won’t detect it. That quality means they’ll readily walk over treated surfaces. The net result is they’ll be picking up the active chemical when they forage where you sprayed. Some will be brought back to their nests and shared so that a few days later, they’ll die along with any others they infect. For this reason Prothor is well suited for yards with pests that live in colonies like ants and termites.
So in your case, stay with Maxxthor for the homes siding. But for the yard, use Prothor and you’ll get rid of the ants for good.

Will Maxxthor work to kill ants in my lawn?
Thanks

Larry,
It will. But if you have active nests and a lot of activity? The Prothor would be the best option. We explain that in detail above.
