Last year I had a bad problem with leaf hoppers. When you walked in my grass, there would be thousands popping up. They got into my roses and even some trees. It's starting to get warm again and I didn't want them to take over. What do you have that I can use for my plants and grass?
There are two or three products listed in our LEAFHOPPER CONTROL article. The best option will really be based on the size of the area you need to treat. The BIFEN is the most economical to use and over time will be very effective too. But for small areas, the CYONARA RTS is fine.
Some other things you can that will help is to make sure you're not letting grass clippings pile up. Leafhoppers love hiding and thriving down in a thick thatch. Remove loose grass clippings from your yard throughout the year and this will really help. As for pine islands or mulch like wood chips around flower beds; these too can be problem areas so apply some DELTAGARD GRANULES 2-3 times a year and spray over the top if you see activity.
