PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Concentrated essential plant and tree oils that use a very “high” concentration they effectively chase away animals and insects.
Pest Away won’t injure or harm animals or insects but they will notice it and not be comfortable staying where its applied. Basically its high level of natural oils spooks them. This is a natural reaction animals and insects have to many plant and wood oils so they avoid landing on it, eating it, etc.
This short video (less than 60 seconds) gives a good overview of how it works:
We have found it effective chasing the following list of animals and insects including but not limited to: aphids, bats, beaver, beetles, birds, blind snakes, blue tailed skinks, Bufo toads, bullfrogs, bumble bees, Cane Toads, carpenter bees, chipmunks, Colorado River Toads, crayfish, Cuban treefrogs, curly tailed lizards, deer, ducks, frogs, geckos, geese, iguanas, leaf chewers, lizards, marmots, mealy bugs, mice, mosquitoes, newts, porcupine, psocids, rats, rabbits, raccoons, rock chucks, rodents chewing engine wires, salamanders, scorpions, skinks, skunk, spider mites, snails, snakes, squirrels, termites, thrips, toads, voles, white flies, wood chucks, woodpeckers and more.
WHERE TO USE IT: Spray Pest Away thoroughly on the sides of the home, plants or targeted trees. This includes areas around trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetables, walkways, docks, roof tiles, pool decks, or any place where you’d like to repel an unwanted insect or animal.
When treating flowering or budding spring plants, treat after dinner right before dark to avoid leaf or bud stress. When possible avoid directly spraying plant buds but instead focus on the trunk and limbs to repel pests and keep plant buds and flowers safe.
You can also add 3 oz to a gallon of paint or stain for outside applications only. The paint will chase away pests for 1+ years.
RATE OF APPLICATION: For optimum results on wet areas like pool decks, docks, patios, seawalls, irrigated gardens, and other large areas, use one gallon of mixed gallon Pest Away per 500 sq/ft.
Add 2 oz of Pest Away per 1 gallon of water to start.
Followup 3 weeks later. After the second treatment, the targeted animal or insects should be “rerouted” to another place but if they continue to hang around, renew treatments as often as they return.
COMPANION PRODUCT: For the longest residual action, use this in conjunction with XEMPT GRANULES. The granules are ideal for the ground because have a repellent built in BUT will last up to 60 days if not longer when sprayed with Pest Away. So for any ground dwelling pest like snakes, lizards, toads and more, the Granules applied first and then sprayed with Pest Away will be your best plan of protection.
SUGGESTED SPRAYERS: SPRITZER ELIMINATOR MINI MISTER
Animals and insects are creatures of habit and since Pest Away won’t harm where its applied, you treat as frequently as is needed.

This stuff really works! It’s been two weeks and I’ve only seen one toad even after a heavy night of rain. I have almost 3 acres and used it around my home and walk way. Before using pest away I had many holes and in my fenced area and toads around my home and walk way. I was worried about my dog getting a hold of one and getting sick. I was doing salt, coffee grounds, rocks in holes and would of done a toad dance if I thought it would get rid of them. I am so amazed how fast and long Pest Away has worked. I will be using it again in another week and if it keeps the toads away again and for a longer time, I will order more. Right now this is the only product that has worked.

This spray worked for the bats nesting behind my gutters. Just one spray and haven’t seen them again! I was afraid it would stain my paint but didn’t do a thing to the siding. one treatment lasted over two months now but i’m gonna spray again to be sure they don’t come back.

Not sure what is eating my plants, but the liquid pest away spray seems to be working and this despite non-stop rain we’re having. New growth is just starting so I’m anxious to see if initial success holds up but so far so good!

Hi, J,
Regarding your/our Pest Awa test on Iguana in my bougainvillea… It’s a dark and stormy day.
I was able to spray 1/2 gallon of Pest Away on the East end of my patio from the Bougainvillea bush all the way over to the big Umbrella tree (so called) in the evening on Wednesday 9/21 – 5 days ago – starting from the orange pot in the bottom right corner (1st picture attached) around the tall dark red pot to beyond the farthest orange pot and including around the base of the umbrella tree. I sprayed everything heavily including Coral Rock, canal bank, the pavers and the bougainvillea trunk and exposed branches to about 30 inches high, probably about 350 – 400 SqFt. total.
I watered my bougainvillea with automatic sprinklers for a few days before Pest Away application and the leaves came back. IGUANA didn’t like the automatic water sprayed on them and stayed away. Problem was, everytime the wind blew the leaves moved and the water turned on.
The point is, since applying Pest Away, I have not had any Iguana in 4 days on the East end of the patio.
We are now faced with Hurricane IAN rain bands and threat and are expecting lots of rain this week.
I am hopeful Pest Away does the trick. We shall see…

Hello, J.
I haven’t forgotten all you did for me in trying to rid my yard of Iguana. The Pest Away seems to be an effective deterrent. We haven’t had more than a few Iguana in the nearly 5 months since applying the Pest Away from BugSpray.com last October.
As an added bonus, since spraying the bougainvillea base and trunk as you instructed, the bushes have bloomed beautifully beyond anything in the past 3 or 4 years. Is there a connection there?
I am still unable to walk/stand much since my injury last August 2022, so there has not been much activity on my part as to working in the yard and chasing Iguana. I’m real glad you recommended the Pest Away.
Thanks,
BoB

I have brown lizards that eat my Monarch butterfly caterpillars. I put the milkweed s in my greenhouse now, but the lizards are still getting in there. How can I get rid of them without affecting the Butterfly caterpillars? I am in Corpus Christi, South Texas. Thank you.
Tech Support says
Astrid,
This is pretty easy. For starters, set out our Lizard Traps. They work incredibly well. So use them inside to help remove any lizards currently inside the green house:
https://bugspray.com/article/reptiles#LIZARD_TRAPS
Next, use a combination of the Xempt Pest Away spray for use on the greenhouse treating it directly, on the outside (not inside) so lizards will stay off it. This is the spray above.
You could also have the Xempt Granules installed around the greenhouse too since it provides a longer lasting more robust treatment for the ground around the greenhouse compared to the Pest Away.

Plan on renewing the treatment every 30-60 days depending on the activity you see but in general, you should get instant results and be lizard free for a good month following one treatment if not more.
