We have a swarming cadisflies type moth problems at the river home this time of year. They get into the house through the screen window openings and mostly stay trapped and die in the tracks. They swarm outside on the patio too. Will your products work for these type of moths too?
Absolutely. Caddisflies are active from spring to fall but certain times of the year there can be “super swarms”. If you reside close to a lake, pond, river or stream, they may end up on your home as they are naturally attracted to light and certain colors.
Caddisflies look a lot like mosquitoes but as you can see in the picture to the right, their body is more “thin”. They tend to fly in swarms whereas mosquitoes will hunt by themselves. The big difference is they don’t have piercing mouthparts so they can’t bite! But given the chance, they can make your house a mess.
To keep them off your home and out of the yard, spray everything with MAXXTHOR EC. Its fast working and highly repellent. You’ll be able to kill them on contact using .5 oz per gallon of water per 1000 sq/ft of surface area.
Treat in early evening assuming you see them most active that time of day. This will kill off the reproducing adults and in theory, if you knock them out with a few treatments, the local numbers should be reduced dramatically so they don’t come back for awhile.
Use a good HOSE END SPRAYER to make the application. Using our sprayer, you’ll want to add 2.5 oz of Maxxthor and then enough water to fill it up to the 5 gallon line. Now hook it to your garden hose and spray the entire amount over 5,000 sq/ft of turf and/or home.
You can also use a standard PUMP SPRAYER if you’re treating small areas. Add .5 oz per gallon of water and be sure to reach all surfaces needing protection.
