I have a bad biscuit beetle invasion. Don’t know where they’re coming from. See them in my kitchen, all over the counter just walking around. No food there. Could they be coming from the sink?
Biscuit beetles are a stored product pest and no doubt coming from something you’re keeping in the cabinets above the counter or close by. Could be something like flour, cereal, cookies, pasta or some other packaged food.
In most cases, they’re brought home when you go shopping at the grocer. Inside the box are developing stages and the ones you see now are the adults. All they want to do is mate and lay eggs. They’re not particularly bright or smart so they will do this anywhere in the home. Given where you’re seeing them, its probably their starting point before they end up in another room.
Our advice is to get a can of our FS MP AEROSOL and use it in all the cabinets or pantry where you store any kind of food. First empty the cabinet, next vacuum it out and then spray using the crack and crevice straw that comes with each can of aerosol.
The eggs and third stage of this pest will be hard to kill but FS MP has special penetrating agents that will get the job done. Generally within 3-4 days, all stages will be dead (assuming you do a thorough and proper treatment). If you are still seeing them a week later, treat again and follow this process till you don’t see anymore.
You should also go through any of the items you take out to make sure they’re not the “source” of the problem. Anything questionable should be discarded and brought to the outside trash receptacle. You can save anything you’re not sure are “bad” but be sure and store them in a zip loc or other plastic bag. This way if any beetles emerge from the item, they will be trapped in the bag and not go elsewhere to lay eggs.
Now if you start finding them in other areas of the house, you’ll need to get our BITHOR and spray all carpets, furniture and baseboards using 1 oz to a gallon of water. Biscuit beetles will lay 25-50 eggs most anywhere and if given the chance, will live on all kinds of things in the home including natural fabric (found in carpets or furniture).

Do the biscuit beetle traps just draw the male beetles? Mine have quite a few caught.
Tech Support says
Ralph,
They will capture both since there is a “food” ingredient and the pheromones tend to get the attention of any in the area.
