I just got your granules but don’t know what setting to use on my spreader. Its a Scotts I got from Home Depot.
Unfortunately there are so many models on the market, we can’t say with any certainty. But here’s what we do know.
First, our granules are very fine and tend to fall through spreaders quickly. For this reason we always recommend you start with the lowest setting possible. This way if you under apply, you can always double back and get the remaining amount applied where needed.
So for example, if you need 2 lbs for 1,000 sq/ft and after one pass you’ve only applied 1.5 lbs? Circle back and move faster to get the remaining 1/2 lb applied where needed.
The following short video (less than 60 seconds) discusses this approach.
Now if it turns out your spreader can’t handle our granules? Watch this video which details how to apply them using a sandwich bag.
