what do you recommend for springtails and how much should I get?

April 23, 2024 By Tech Support Leave a Comment

Springtail bugI want to place an order but would like your recommendation for exactly which products I should get and how much of each? This is for my little enemy that keeps on coming the springtail! The article has so many but I don’t think I need everything? Just wanna be sure.

Our SPRINGTAIL article is all inclusive and has most everything covered. Does that mean you’ll need to do all of the various treatments? Most likely not. Based on what we’ve heard from customers using our products, we can tell that clearly 50-75% of them get very positive results using the basic products and treatment methods covered below. And the same process will work for a few other small pests like CLOVER MITES and BOOKLICE.

Now some will have extra issues like sinks/drains and attics, but that’s only 10-20% And the same amount may have to POWER INJECT. But what we’ve listed below along with what to expect for the first couple of months should give you some answers on where to start and how much time will be involved.

So first, as you can see in our article, you’ll need a jug of the Maxxthor granules and the spray/Boost.

MAXXTHOR SG 11 LB LAWN GRANULES

MAXXTHOR EC

SPREAD-X BOOST ADJUVANT

Treating the outside turf and home siding is how you’ll stop new ones from getting onto your home.

Now if you have them inside, get the Bithor to stop them from spreading around the home. Use this on baseboards and if needed, on walls or even ceilings if they’re coming from the attic.

BITHOR SC

Use the granules once a month and the sprays, as needed. So if you see them active on the homes siding 5 days after you sprayed? Treat again. Same with the inside. But with the inside, if they are coming out of baseboards or around doors, you’ll most likely need to get the Power Injector and start injecting the Bithor where they’re nesting if you’re goal is to not see any inside. The Power Injector comes with three nozzles; two of them are for misting and so you can use it to surface spray the Bithor. But the third one allows you to use the Injection Tube so you can deliver it will end any insect it encounters and take away their nests.

BUGSPRAY POWER INJECTOR

Once you get the products and begin treatments, expect activity to really slow in the first month and by the end of the second month, be pretty much gone. 50-75% of our customers will end their issues using the the Maxxthor and Bithor with no extra work needed. But if you still have ongoing issues – especially coming from home siding, under baseboards or around doors/windows – you’ll need to Power Inject.

Worth noting is that there are other treatments you “may” have to do as well. For example, if they’re coming out from under air vents or electric outlets, you’ll need to dust those point of entry with Xempt D.

PEST-XEMPT DUST 10 OZ JUG

And if they’re active in sinks, tubs or showers, you’ll need the Enz A Bac and Lemon Air.

NO SURVIVORS ENZ-A BAC DRAIN PIPE TREATMENT 32 OZ

LEMON AIR PLUS or SANNI SHINE INSECTICIDE “DOWN THE DRAIN TREATMENT” 128 OZ

And then for some of our customers, roughly 5% who don’t want to see any around their pool or outside cement areas, they’ll need to do some drilling and injecting as explained in our article here:

HOW TO TREAT CEMENT SLABS | BUGSPRAY

As for as the sizes to get? Starting small is never wrong. Yes, we have larger sizes but even the pint of Maxxthor will make 50+ gallons so these concentrates go a long way. They are fairly stable meaning they’ll last 4-5 years if not longer as our article here explains:

what is the shelf life of your products?

In summary, the Maxxthor and Bithor have proven to be the best formulations for this pest because of their unique tiny particle sizes which can penetrate better other chemicals. In general, todays chemicals are designed to hold up on surfaces – not to penetrate. For pests like springtails, you need deep penetration to solve deeply embedded pest issues. So if you arm yourself with the best chemicals and deliver them where this pest is nesting? It will be eradicated for good.
