I may have straw itch mites in my Honda Civic and possibly since the beginning of May. I have carried pine straw bales in my car frequently for my tiny landscaping business. I’ve had the rash since the beginning of May and it continually spreads and worsens. What product is best for the car and how should it be applied?
There are two products to consider. BEDLAM PLUS is virtually odorless and contains an adulticide and an egg killing insect growth regulator which could prove most helpful. Commonly used for a wide range of pests including bed bugs, carpet beetle and dust mites, its easy to use and one can would be able to treat a car 10-20 times. Use it as needed by giving the carpets and upholstery a light misting until the problem goes away.
The other option is the pyrethrin based MICRO-CARE. This product will only kill active stages and contains no egg killer so you’ll need to use it a lot more frequently. At least 3 times a week in the evening before letting the car sit overnight should do the job. And after 3-4 weeks, the problem should be resolved. One can would be enough to treat any car many times and should be more than enough for your problem.
