Hi – I finally received the no survivors product today. Question – can it be used without Lemon Air?
Of course! They both do different things BUT both work to reduce/eliminate springtails and other drain pests. So what’s the difference?
So first, lets talk about what each does. No Survivors removes organic matter and the “food” springtails and other pests like eat. Take away their food and they’ll struggle to survive in this environment. This means that ultimately they’ll be gone but it could take 2-3 weeks.
Lemon Air, on the other hand, kills them immediately. Does it remove their food? No. But if you keep killing them with just Lemon Air, you can, in theory, not have to see any because if they’re all killed, well, there will be none left to come up and out of the sink. So you could use nothing but Lemon Air and not have to see anymore BUT if you stop using it, the food left in the sink drains would be an open invitation for more to come back and move back in with plenty of comfort.
Now what if you’re using both?
Well when both are used, you get immediate results AND there is no chance of them coming back because there will be no food.
So in summary, using just one or the other means a different short term result. Both results will be positive but if you want a more complete, long term goal, then using both is the way to go.

what is the difference in the old Survivors and what you have now, no survivors enz-a- bac? I still have some Survivors by Aero???? I have bought the Lemon Air and still have some problems with springtails

So first, Enz A Bac replaced the old Survivors package 6 years ago when Covid forced a change in production. And if you have any from then? Its old and not likely there are any living enzymes left. Discard it down the drain and get some new stuff.
That said, if are seeing springtails in your sinks, tubs or showers, they aren’t always coming up from the drain. In fact most of the time they are jumping into the area from your room. In other words, if this sink/drain is in a bathroom or kitchen and you are seeing springtails in it, treating the sink is important to make sure they don’t start living down the drain.
But seeing them there is most likely happening because they are living in this same room and dehydrating. As this happens, they will naturally move towards anything moist or wet, like a sink drain, and they can get into it by jumping. In case you didn’t know, springtails are quite good jumpers. They can jump higher than fleas as we explain here:

In summary, you most likely have them coming out from a window, sky light, a piece of furniture like a cabinet or the baseboards. To find out for sure, cap the drain and add enough water so that it’s buried. Do this after treating with Lemon Air. Now let it sit overnight and the next day. If you find any springtails in the water, that is a sure sign they are coming from above – not from the drain pipe below.
