Hello: My neighbor has many bird feeders and the birds are crossing my drive & pooping on my car, driveway, porch windows & roosting on my car & window sills leaving poop. What can I do to stop birds from flying over my drive & car in a small area?
The easiest solution would be to install a BIRD GARD ultra sound device. This unit has adjustable power options but you’ll want to use it set to “always on” and keep it powered up using the included AC power converter. It costs less than $.50 a month to operate even when you keep it on all the time so its not expensive to run. And it will chase any bird from the protected area.
Basically you’ll want to position the unit as close to the height where the birds are mostly flying. So if you see them crossing 10 feet up, try to set the unit 5-8 feet off the ground pointed up and at their point of entry. By blanketing the air space with ultra sound, you’ll be able to put in place a strong repellent that will force them to fly in another direction off your land.
Now if they ‘re coming onto your property low to the ground, position the unit low. Remember too that these units are like a flashlight in that the beam of sound is narrow close to the unit but as you move further and further away from the device, the sound wave coverage gets wider and wider. That means you probably won’t want it mounted in the middle of the active air space but instead, a good 10-20 feet off to one side so that the sound is able to widen and in turn cover a larger area where it will matter the most.
