HOW TO TREAT CRICKETS COMING UP THE DRAIN | BUGSPRAY.COM

Dear Friends,

It appears that we have crickets coming through our shower drain. Do you have any recommendations as to products that will solve this problem? We would certainly appreciate your comments. I will look forward to your email at your earliest opportunity. Thanks so much. Jack S.

Jack,

There is a wide range of insects that can live in drain lines. Typically they’re living in the city drain line system down by the public road or in your septic tank if your home utilizes this waste line option. Organic matter we call “waste” is food for a wide range of insects and crickets are one species that will capitalize on the offer!

Once established in a septic or sewer drain outside the home, it’s only a matter of time before some forage up your home’s main drain line and from there, enter through sinks, tubs or shower drains.

This video details how to solve the issue and the products you’ll need, they’re listed below:

In some cases, there will be adequate waste buildup on the interior walls of the your pipes, elbows or other drain line joints which can allow them to nest. If that happens, you’ll have ongoing issues as populations get established throughout the year.

To remedy the problem and keep it from happening, there are two treatments. One works for long term prevention and the other, for the immediate activity.

So once a week, you’ll need to apply the NO SURVIVORS ENZ A BAC.

This short video (less than 60 seconds) summarizes what it will do:

So for long term control, pour 2-3 oz into 32-64 oz of warm water and mix it up. Next pour it down the drain to remove all organic matter. Treatments should be done once a week in the evening, just before you retire, so the Enz A Back can work overnight. Enz A Bac will eat their food and by doing so, prevent nesting along with any interest they might have for living in your pipes.

For the current problem, treat at least 3 weeks in a row. And if they’re gone after 3 weeks, applying No Survivors every 3 months should keep the drain lines clear.

To kill crickets active and living in the drain (Enz A Bac only works on their food, not the actual insect), you’ll need to apply LEMON AIR INSECTICIDE. This unique product is the only insecticide labeled for safe use down the drain. It smells lemony fresh too and its labeled for Covid-19 so great for decontaminating all counters, rooms, furniture, etc.

This short video (less than 60 seconds) shows how easy it is to use the Lemon Air

YouTube Video

For insect control, mix 4 oz per gallon of water and pour 1/2 gallon down any sink drain suspected of harboring insects. Use Lemon Air on any night when you don’t use Enz A Bac. In general, most drain lines will need Lemon Air applied twice a week when insects are active and 2 weeks of treatments. After that, use it for prevention once a month.

Lemon Air will keep any sink fresh smelling too so great for tubs, bathrooms and even commercial kitchen drain lines.

Are these products completely safe to use since we have a 20 year old septic tank that is working properly now? We certainly don’t want to have any trouble with it.
    Thanks so much,
    M. Gibson

Our down the drain products will have no impact on the septic system innards. So your system will be fine. The No Survivors does clean out the pipes but once in the main drain, won’t be strong enough to impact anything.
The Lemon Air is an insecticide and down the drain, it can kill insects but like the No Survivors, once it reaches your main tank system in the ground, it will be too diluted to have much of an impact insect wise.
