Back yard is covered in small rocks for driving on. When walking in back yard Sunday we discovered very tiny black insects jumping on our shoes and legs. They look like tiny little specks. What are they?
It’s not possible for me to tell for sure but I’d bet they’re SPRINGTAILS since they’re real active right now. These commonly nest under rocks and mulch around any home. Also, they don’t fly and can emerge in the thousands from spring through fall so they can become a real nuisance once they start getting into living spaces. Regardless of what they are, if you apply a bag or two of some BIFEN GRANULES, I’m sure they’ll be gone for several months till the treatment wears off.
