I have these tiny carpet beetles in my CAR. I have been freaking out and trying to figure out where they’re nesting, where they came from and how to get rid of them! We have cleaned the car, vacuumed ourselves, sprayed vinegar, put out dust, professionally cleaned the car, sprayed with essential oils insect repellent and they KEEP COMING BACK. We haven’t seen them flying much but they have wings so maybe they’re flying to the car and crawling inside? I called Orkin who said to get the car steam cleaned. Please do you have any spray that will kill them all?
Thanks,
NV
So with cars, its very possible for the feeding larvae to be very “deep” in fabric or the “stuffing” used for seats and upholstery. This means traditional products applied to the carpeting and other surfaces won’t provide complete control. Sure, foraging adults will eventually die after moving over treated sections. But the larvae will continue to feed and pupate. This means more adults will be emerging to the open areas replacing the ones you kill and so the problem will seem never ending.
Ultimately, using a product like our FS MP AEROSOL will be your best chance of ending the cycle. FS MP is oil based and as such, the only product that can kill eggs and pupae. This means if you’re able to treat in all the cracks and crevices, you could in theory kill all stages foraging and eating BEFORE they come out to the open spaces.
FS MP is very unique for this reason BUT you must be very deliberate with your treatment. In other words, surface spraying won’t help. But if you take the time with the included straw to “inject” all possible nests sites, you could eliminate all developing stages and take care of the problem for good.
As the video above summarizes, FS MP is your best option. We suggest taking the car out of the garage and giving it a good thorough treatment including the carpeting, seats, door panels and of course, the trunk. Be sure to empty the trunk first so you can get behind any liners or other voids where they might be nesting.
