I have been battling these annoying bugs for over a year now. I am currently working with my second exterminating company with little success. Your article on how to get rid of these bugs was very helpful but I am not sure if I can tackle this problem. If my service company can’t solve it, how can I? What should I do?
As explained in our SILVERFISH CONTROL ARTICLE, this pest can be persistent and annoying. Since they tend to live in hidden spaces somewhere between the outside and inside of the home, it can be hard to pinpoint the exact location to treat.
That said, they almost always tend to use the same ports of entry to get into your living spaces. And these areas will be the BASEBOARDS, AIR VENTS and from under ELECTRIC OUTLET COVERS.
For under the baseboards, nothing kills and repels them as well as XEMPT EC. Made with food and plant oils as the active, this concentrate is highly repellent to insects. When injected under baseboards, they will stay away and in turn, not get inside.
To deliver the Xempt EC mixture where it needs to go, you’ll need a POWER INJECTOR. These allow you to create a small tank of liquid that will be dispersed like an aerosol.
Using the included injection hoses, you can get the treatment to effectively put up a barrier silverfish won’t want to cross.
As for the Air Ducts and under outlet covers, you’ll need XEMPT D.
