Is your aerosol spray can leaking around the nozzle or the valve stem? It probably needs the nozzle to be “reseated”.
Watch this short video (less than 60 seconds) to learn how.
Spray can nozzles fit over a “valve stem” that sticks out from the can’s top. The stem is usually short, about 1/4″, so if the nozzle isn’t fitted down all the way, it will leak.
To reseat the nozzle, take it outside. Put on a pair of rubber gloves and find a flat, secure surface. A cement slab will work; a wide deck railing is ideal.
Remove the nozzle and then fit it back over the valve stem making sure the alignment is level.
Gently fit the nozzle back over the valve stem making sure to point it away because when you reseat the nozzle, it will release some spray.
Now push down firmly for about 1/2 second. With the can on the flat surface, the nozzle should slide down the valve stem and bottom out. If the force applied is perpendicular to the valve stem, the nozzle will create a sealed connection and no longer leak.
