PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Long lasting “talc” like powder that works two ways.
Some dusts work as a stomach poison (boric acid). These require the insect to “eat” some which isn’t easy to get done since it doesn’t task good.
The more common dusts are products like Delta Dust which contain a very mild amount of insecticide that works like a “ready to use” spray. Insects move through the dust, pick up some and die in a day or two. The problem with these dusts is that they typically break down quick, in 30-60 days, and they won’t last long in moist or hostile environments.
Xempt Dust contains an active which works quickly but they break down in 30-60 days like most others. However, that’s when the dehydrating base of Xempt dust kicks in and gets you continuing protection.
Xempt D can kill for 1-2 years AND it can get wet and still work after it dries.
This dual action separates it from other dusts on the market making it the best performing dust at this time. Some other features include..
-
- Plant based actives used to quickly eliminate pests
- Dehydrating mechanical secondary mode of action – not chemical
- Food grade ingredients
- Can absorb moisture and get wet but still work when dry again
- Residual action for several years when left undisturbed (like in dry wall voids)
WHERE TO USE IT INSIDE: Ideally suited for wall voids, cracks and crevices including but not limited to the spaces behind electric outlet covers, light switch covers, under air vents around duct work and the ceiling voids surrounding the duct, under cabinet bottoms in the false floor space above the actual floor, attics, crawl spaces, behind major appliances like refrigerators, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, freezers and microwaves but not out in the open.

OUTSIDE: Well suited for directly treating CARPENTER BEE HOLES, WASP NESTS, behind VINYL AND ALUMINUM SIDING and under CEDAR SIDING.
It’s effective on a wide range of insects and other pests including ants, aphids, white flies, slugs, snails and more.
APPLICATION RATE: Indoors use 2 oz per 100 sq/ft of surface area. One 10 oz jar covers up to 500 sq/ft. In dry environments like attics and wall voids, treatments will last 1-2 years. For damp environments like crawl spaces, retreat every 6 months or if pests reappear.
Outside applications require 1 oz per 25-50 sq/ft up under siding and into seams that allow treatments. Ideally suited for vinyl and aluminum siding, Xempt-Dust will provide the longest protection in hidden voids where many small pests like to nest.

Stephanie Martin says
I have wasps that are inside my wood fence post. What is the best dust and then do I need to seal the opening after no activity?
Tech Support says
Stephanie,
If you have holes that are visible – holes that you see wasps or bees entering and leaving – then this dust, Xempt D, would be well suited. It can handle getting wet and still work. Wood tends to conduct moisture and so most dusts will break down quickly after getting wet. But Xempt is built for this condition and would hold up fine.
Dust them every two days until you don’t see anymore activity and each nest should be “done” meaning you won’t have living wasps using it anymore. But it’s highly likely more wasps will want to come around and use the same wood if it’s left untreated. We have two repellent sprays that would stop that from happening.
The first is Maxxthor SC. When mixed with Boost, it will soak into the wood and should last 2-3 weeks when 1 oz of each is added to a gallon of water.

If you prefer something all natural, XEMPT EC is made with food grade plant oils and poses no hazard to people or pets. It kills insects like the Maxxthor but will repel them for much longer, several months actually since its oil based, and overall would be a stronger option. Use it with Boost too (1 oz per gallon) to get maximum results.

Can the dust be applied under baseboards and by gas fireplace?
Tech Support says
Steph,
It can! That said, you maybe better served using the Power Injector and something like our Bithor or Maxxthor. This is covered in great detail here:
