DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHTS: The 3 gallon weighs just 6 lbs empty, stands 17″ tall and is 8″ wide. The 5 gallon is the same width, 8″, stands 25″ high and weighs 9 lbs empty.
HOW DOES IT WORK: This sprayer is part of the Bugspray NO PUMP series of sprayers that enable the user to pressurize a tank and then spray their mixture without having to rely on batteries, pumps or any moving parts. We currently have 3 models that employ this same technology. The small, surgical like tool known as the POWER INJECTOR along with the NO PUMP and ULTRA LIGHT NO PUMP.
All of these sprayers include a super light but amazingly strong tank that can hold water, chemical and up to 100 psi of air. The top of these tanks uses a clamp that seals from inside so it can never leak.
The top has 3 “ports”. One is for filling it with air, one is for the sprayer hose to connect and the third is a release valve that also serves as a safety valve in case the tank is over pressurized.
Using any electric air pump (the kind you would use the fill tires on your car), you can safely pressurize the tank up to 90 psi. The tank is rated for up to 130 lbs but the relief valve will only allow you to fill it to 90-95 psi before it starts to release.
The center is the “lid” simply clamps on/off so no “screwing” of a pump or collar is needed to open/close the lid. Simply unclamp it the lid, add water and chemical and then clamp the lid back on.
SKY-HY NOZZLES AND NEEDLES
Also included are 5 sprayer nozzles. The Red nozzle produces a narrow, laser like pin stream. The other nozzles will provide wider swaths, all marked, making them well suited for spraying plants, foundations or turf.
The 4 included Needle Injectors are used for Power Injecting. Much like the Smaller Bugspray Power Injector, the Sky-Hy can Power Inject. Using Stainless Steel Needles, now you can Power Inject at 4 times the speed of the small system and carry a lot more mixture. Due to the larger hoses and delivery openings, the Sky-Hy will let you inject up to 4 times more mixture per second. This allows you to get through large jobs (like vinyl siding) in a lot less time.
All models can hold 15 to over 65+ times as much of your mixture compared to the Power Injector. So if you have a need to be injecting a large areas, the Sky-Hy will help.
The included 12 Foot Hose allows the applicator to move about without having to carry the tank. Again, this will save time and effort.
And when fitted with any of the Needle Injectors, you can spray just as far as the Red Tipped nozzle but with less volume.
HOW TO USE THE SKY-HY NO PUMP SPRAYER
1) For normal “spraying” of turf, gutters and home siding, 50-60 psi should be enough for you to empty the tank assuming you add no more than 2/3’s of the tanks capacity with water. So for the 3 gallon tank, add 1 to 1.5 gallons of water so when filled with 75-80 psi, it will empty with just one tankful of air and still have plenty of power.
For the 5 gallon system, you can add up to 2.5 gallons of water and still empty it with one tankful of air. Of course, you can add more water to either but in general, this means you’ll need to add more air to empty it.
2) For reaching 30+ feet or higher targets, pressurize the sprayer to 90 psi and again, mix up only what you plan on using. When standing on the ground, the Sky-Hy will reach up over 30 feet. If you need more height, now you can safely climb a 5-10 foot step ladder while leaving the tank on the ground by using the included 12 foot long hose. You can also get every model with twice as much hose enabling the sprayer to reach up over 50 feet (to reach this height you will need a 20 foot tall ladder or some other way to elevate yourself above the tank by 20 feet).
3) When the mixture “runs” out, empty the air pressure inside the tank by holding the valve open OR using the pull ring on the safety relief valve mounted on the center lid. You’ll “hear” the air release within a few seconds. Once the air it all released, you can “unclamp” the lid and either refill or clean the tank and hose for safe storage.
4) To clean the system for storage, we recommend adding 32-64 oz of water, swirling it around in the open tank (no lid on) and then dumping out the mixture alongside the home. Do this twice. Now add 32-64 more oz of water to the sprayer and pressurize it so you can then pump out what’s inside through the hose assembly. This will in turn purge the hose, get the tank mostly empty as well as the hose and valve so it can be safely stored. When storing DO NOT lock the lid back on. Leave the lid off so the tank can air out and dry.
5) The “white” quick connect Air will only fit over the “in pole” on the sprayer’s topside. Just match the color dot on the Air valve with the dot on the tank.
Use an electronic pump with a gauge for accurate measurement of how much pressure is in the tank. This ball valve should be removed after the tank is pressurized to insure it doesn’t get damaged when using the sprayer around the yard.
6) The hose/sprayer valve has a dark brown ball valve that fits on the “out” side of the tank. Ball valves can safely swivel without leaking air or mixtures. Just be sure to “drain” them when not in use as detailed above. And look to match the colored dots; the dot on the brown hose will match the dot on the tank (which will be the “out” barb).
7) These systems come with a full 1 year warranty; not intended for corrosive materials like acid, vinegar, bleach or anything with a PH lower than 6. Same with anything with a high alkaline value like Liquid Lime. Using corrosive mixtures will void the warranty; that said, all moving parts like ball valves, air intakes, lid gaskets and sprayer components are replaceable.
In summary, the Sky-Hy sprayer is well suited for anyone who would like to use a sprayer without having to continuously “pump” as they work. Its also great for anyone needing reach 30 feet up but has no need for a battery operated professional back pack sprayer that typically costs $800+. And with the included S/S Injector Needles, the Sky-Hy can super charge your Power Injecting needs. This will allow you to treat large areas super fast compared to our POWER INJECTOR.

How is this product different/ better than the original no pump tank sprayer that you have had available for years. I purchased the 5g tank and have been using it but would like to have more reach if possible to get to the top of my house. Still dealing with a BMSB issue that has been a huge problem for years at my home in rural Oregon. Since my house is surrounded by fields of grass seed and hazelnut orchards it seems to attract the stinkbugs in mass. This time of year they are starting to arrive to my house and it will be ongoing for a couple months, then in the spring they start to appear inside, so they are obviously finding a place to over winter. My goal is to keep them from surviving the winter, since I realize they will always arrive in the fall and keeping my place treated with Maxxthor should be giving better results. Anyway, please describe any ideas or reasons I should consider this sprayer over the one I currently use.

So a few things.
First, the Sky Hy uses the same tank as the no pump. This means you can get the same power and easy of use. And you will only need to purchase the top piece that will snap onto your tank so you wouldn’t have to purchase a whole new system. We offer the sprayer/nozzles/injection needles/12ft or 25ft hose separately.
Second, the No Pump has a short hose because it was created to use like a standard pump sprayer. For most uses, this is fine. You can spray your foundation and reach up high as needed because of it’s power. But what if it can’t quite reach certain peaks, soffits, etc. around your home? As you know, it’s not unusual for a house to have sections up 40-50 feet and though the No Pump can reach up over 30 feet, it won’t be enough to get these areas properly treated. This is where the Sky Hy can help.
The Sky Hy doesn’t have a standard Spray wand or normal 4-5 foot long hose. For this reason, it’s not the easiest to use for regular use where you plan on walking or spraying. Now we do include a re-usable cable tie that can keep the 12 foot hose contained so you can actually move about spraying if you desire. But that same hose allows you to keep the tank on the ground so the user may scale a ladder with just the sprayer in their hand. As we’re sure you know, it’s not safe to be carrying the tank up a ladder! With the Sky Hy, you’ll be leaving the tank on the ground and with the standard 12 foot long hose, you’ll be able climb up a ladder over 10 feet. This gets you added reach and in general, will top 40 feet. We also have the 25 foot hose option with the Sprayer/Nozzles/Injector kit that will add even more reach.
Third, regarding the Stinkbugs, you might want to try using our latest product Xempt EC. It’s way more repellent working compared to the Maxxthor EC for surface treatments.

Lastly, if you have Vinyl siding or say Cedar Shakes, you should consider doing some Power Injecting. This can really thwart fall invaders for good as the treatments will diffuse any left over pheromones previous activity has been leaving in these hidden spaces.

Would you please post a video of this sprayer being used to spray the vertical surfaces of a 2 or 3 story house? It would be useful to see the spray pattern at those heights.

We are hoping to get a video done any day now. We haven’t officially launched the Sky Hy, mostly due to weather conflicts with the filming of the video, but we’re very close.
That said, there is a range of spray patterns and here is a quick summary.
The 5 included nozzles with quick connects include a 0, 15, 25, 40 and 90 degree “width”. The 0 degree sprays a direct beam, very linear. And since it’s directing the flow to one spot, it will reach the highest. But not as linear as the one Injection Needle. So even though the Injection Needles are designed for cracks and crevices, at least one of them can be used for spraying out or up. It’s very thin and so the flow stream is about 1/2 as wide compared to the 0 degree nozzle.
Personally I am using both the 0 degree and the one needle injector for reaching up high. So far I’ve found the Red 0 degree is best suited for when I need volume up around gutters. The Needle Injector has been used for lower treatments or sideways treatments for wasp nests. Basically for when I’ve need a precise treatment which are fairly close by and easy to reach. Especially if I don’t want splash back.
All that said, we are about to add several more options that will make this model more versatile. There will be a steel lance that adds 8 feet and we’re working on an adjustable nozzle to make it more like a traditional sprayer nozzle. We hope to get these all added, along with the video, by this time next week.
