Help!
We thought our lawn was just stressed from drought last summer but now a LOT is just dead and we have found a grubs while pulling up weeds! No doubt this is mostly white grub damage. Well, we did the Milky Spore thing back in 2008 but I don’t think it helped. Unfortunately we haven’t done anything with lawn for the last two years because we had so much other things to do in yard—we inherited a jungle!
Right no we want to reseed on parts of lawn today as it just looks horrible from all the grub damage…and of course again in fall when most people seed. So basically our question is what times of year should we treat with the Merit and Permethrin applications? We will do what we have to to get this under control!! Thanks for your help.

Grubs will be active most of the year so there is rarely a best time to treat. But in general, the fall, spring and early summer are great times and here in GA, the spring is a good time for sure. This time of year people commonly get outside to do some yard work and in the process will find grubs high up in the soil. This makes them vulnerable and easy to kill.
I suggest you get the MERIT GRANULES applied first. These are listed in our GRUB CONTROL article. Next, spray over the top with some CYONARA RTS. This will quickly kill any that are active with the granules providing several months of control.
