i’ve been doing my treatments since last year and it looks like the outside spray and granules have worked. I don’t see any on my siding or deck. but now inside i have an issue. they were coming from the attic and wall outlet so I dusted. well that worked for like a week but now they’re coming from the window and baseboards. its like they’re looking for a new place to come out. i see you have this new tool i guess i need, the injector. should i use the bithor or maxxthor for inside?
To start, BITHOR isn’t a bad option. Give it a try for 4-6 weeks and if it isn’t keeping them out, go with the XEMPT EC over Maxxthor. Bithor may do the job, if it’s a minor issue, but it won’t repel them so you could keep seeing activity and why the best “repellent” residual might be needed. Let me explain..
As you mentioned, your outside treatments have eliminated them from coming up from the ground and onto the home. This is critical for long term control. You’ve essentially created a “buffer zone” that’s springtail free. You’ll never get rid of every springtail in the yard but you can create a 5-10 band around the home with little to none in the soil. This will prevent them from finding your home and ultimately allow you to live springtail free. Maxxthor granules and spray can do this but so too can XEMPT G and XEMPT EC.
Well now you need to do this for the inside living areas!
And this is where most people fail; they’re a bit confused about just what it happening inside.
So here’s the short story and why it’s important to understand the sequence of events.
At some point after the springtails moved under your home siding, some got to the ATTIC and wall voids and were coming out from things like ELECTRIC OUTLETS. These are basically the “points of entry” to your living space (when moving down from the attic) and in general, we recommend dusting to stop the invasion (with XEMPT D).
But for WINDOWS and DOORS, POWER INJECTING liquid treatments are the way to go since these are the main points of entry for pests like springtails, clover mites, centipedes, booklice or psocids.
Now since you’ve dusted, you’ve essentially re-routed the springtails to these new areas (windows and doors) and if you don’t start treating there, you will most likely have them coming out there indefinitely since the Bithor won’t repel them.
So again, these are the points of entry. And so fter the initial 2-3 treatments with Bithor, if the springtails are still coming out, it would mean they’re traveling from much deeper living spaces. We call this the REPLACEMENT EFFECT.

Unfortunately it won’t be possible to reach them all that are living in the middle of the wall several feet from the doors and windows you’ll now be injecting. But if you start using something that provides the best repellent action, you can reroute them. This is why XEMPT EC would be the best next product to use.
And over time, after a few treatments, you should reach the SATURATION COEFFICIENT. As this happens, you’ll applications will be penetrating deeper and deeper into the void and in turn, getting a bigger and bigger buffer zone due to the amount applied and the strength of it compiling up with frequency of applications. This happens because these areas are very protected. Outside surface treatments break down quickly due to the sun and rain. But inside wall voids where it’s very stable, treatments can last for years.
Ultimately this zone will be large enough to where you won’t be seeing them anymore. BUT THIS WILL TAKE TIME!
So to start, use the Bithor. And if you still have them coming out after 6 weeks, consider going with Xempt EC. Our tests show it will penetrate and repel the most which in turn will create the biggest buffer zone possible. The Power Injector should be plenty strong to get the job done but consider the SKY HY NO PUMP – especially if you have high places to treat.

If you’re lucky, you’ll eradicate them deep enough so your buffer zone will keep them from coming out. The key to accomplish that goal is to keep retreating until you aren’t seeing them.
