BEST SPRAY TO STOP WASPS AND HORNET GIRDLING
Do you have a EUROPEAN HORNET or YELLOW JACKETS girdling your deck or tree?
Girdling is commonly done to collect nest material by members of the wasp family. When they target trees, they’re usually gathering sap for food as well as the bark.
In this picture, you can see a group of them gathered up sucking on sap from a small “wound” in the trunk.
Girdling a tree can lead to fungus and other insect infestations so its best to end this behavior with one of our treatments below.
BEST ORGANIC GIRDLING DETERRENT
If you’d like to chase away the wasps but not harm them, our PEST AWAY is your best option.
Pest Away is made with all natural organic essential oils and gets mixed with water. It won’t harm wildlife, insects, birds, pets, etc. but due to it being so concentrated, it makes insects leave the treated area.
In the following “short video” (less than 60 seconds) you’ll get the quick summary on Pest Away and what you can use it for around the home.
They don’t like the level of concentrate found in the spray so they become uneasy and alarmed about the area. This makes Pest Away a great way to naturally chase away unwanted insects.
Our 8 oz jar mixes 2 oz per gallon of water and will treat up to 2 trees 3 feet wide or 500 sq/ft of deck per mixed gallon.
STRONGEST SPRAY FOR GIRDLING WASPS AND HORNETS
If you want to kill the wasps and hornets girdling, get our PROTHOR. Its unique quality is that insects cannot detect it.
Spray up to 2 large trees per mixed gallon or 500 sq/ft of decking. Prothor is super stealthy and won’t be noticed by the wasps. They’ll be picking up a lethal dose the first visit and bring it back to their nest. Within 2-3 days, the nest will all die when the chemical takes affect.
Treat in the evening, close to sunset, and respray 3 nights in a row. If you find they come later in the season, treat again. Its not uncommon for multiple nests to be active in any region so be prepared to deal with new activity during the summer and fall.
The mixture rate is 1 oz per gallon of water.
GEL BAIT
Though not labeled for wasps or hornets, there is a GEL BAIT commonly used for roaches on trees which ants, hornets and wasps will feed on. The gel uses a sweet honeydew attractant these other pests find attractive. They’ll quickly find the offering, feed on it and bring some back to their nest to share. Within a few days, the nest will be dead.
Place small dabs on the bark of any tree where you see wet sap or damage. Renew nightly when they’re not active. After 2-4 days the activity should cease.
