POLY SNAKE TRAP X-LARGE 2 DOOR 40″ X 8″ X 8″ WITH 2 BAIT HOLDERS

SNAKE TRAP DESCRIPTION:   This is our X-Large Polyethylene Snake Trap. Essentially it’s two of our Large Models that have been modified and connected using two heavy tie cables. Designed for use alongside fences, homes, trees and the shore line of ponds/lakes/streams, its square shape insures stable placements on flat terrain. When used along water ways, we recommend securing the trap with the included twine so it doesn’t get displaced by water flow or curious animals.

This trap measures 8″ Wide x 8″ Tall x 40″ Long. Recommended for snakes up to 6 feet long, it’s very spacey inside and can handle even larger animals. 2

Unlike our metal traps which can rust after 4+ years, this design will not rot and comes apart for easy maintenance.

This trap features:

• 2 Funnel Entrances. Entry funnels have soft pliable plastic “prongs” that mesh together (see pics below). They leave a small hole that easily bends open to let any size snake enter. They feature a one way design so snakes can push them open but once inside, they won’t be able to exit. These prongs can be shortened or even altered with a heat gun so if needed, you can edit them. However, we recommend keeping them as they are when received. Snakes are wired to seek points of entry – especially those that hunt vermin like mice. So even though the “hole” in the funnel may not appear to be large, it will easily give way when they push and so they’ll find their way inside.
• 2 Live Bait Holders. Designed like the Large model but with two bait cups. There is a round ventilated “bait cup” that measures 3.5″ wide and 2″ tall. It can easily hold mice, crickets or frogs. We generally recommend insects and frogs to be left free roaming in the main chamber since they won’t be able to escape. In general, even mice won’t figure out how to escape but if you find they do, use the live Bait holder. It snaps “on” to the ceiling of the trap and has four mounting points. Each trap comes with the bait holders both mounted and the Bait Capsule inside the trap along with the securing twine.
• There are two Bait Capsules included designed to hold a cotton ball that has been treated with our SNAKE LURE. Capsules can be placed on the floor of the trap though we suggest you hang it from the trap ceiling to allow circulating air a better chance of carrying the scent afar.
• Both Funnel Entrances can be removed for access. Use a flat head screwdriver to pop them off as shown in the pictures below.

WHERE TO USE IT:   This trap can be used in a crawl space, attic, alongside your home’s foundation, along fence rows as well as retaining walls or pathways. Since it won’t rust, it’s well suited for use along waterways like drain ditches, streams, ponds and lakes.

This model comes with 2 Funnel Entrances. They may appear small but they expand quite a bit so even large snakes can enter.

To bait or release snakes, you’ll need to remove either Funnel Entrance. Use a small flat headed screw driver to pry the edge up. There is a threaded edge on the trap that will hold the Funnel in place; push them down to insure they’re snug and tight before deployment.

 

The Live Bait Holder Cup will arrive mounted to the trap ceiling. Inside the cup will be the Lure Capsule and twine. Twist the Bait Cup “counter clockwise” to unlock and remove.
