PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:    Small cigar sized box that uses sound to repel nuisance animals (listed animals). These units emit an ultra sound (frequencies humans cannot hear and pets won’t mind) by default and audible sounds if desired (you control the audible sounds so they can be turned off or on as needed).

Units can be powered by the included power supply (plugs into the wall and requires less power compared to a mobile phone) or using 4 “C” batteries for use afield where no power is available.

The ultra sound will make them uncomfortable and in most cases, make them want to leave the area. Ultra sound will be sent out anytime the unit is triggered on or if you keep it set to “constantly on”. Use the included power supply if you need to keep them “constantly on”; battery power them for all other applications which is particularly helpful for remote locations. The audible sounds can be turned off or on as needed; they work by “scaring” targeted animal and use a range of sirens, predator sounds and more. These features make this yard gard the most flexible sound repeller on the market today.

HOW IT WORKS:   There are three main variables used by the device which will frighten or stress wildlife to keep targeted animals off your land or out of your home. The first is the default “Ultra” sound which people cannot hear. This alone will keep most animals away. But our unit also features a “light bar” that goes off and on which is adds to the “fright factor” when the unit is active. Lastly, the optional “audible” sound mimics a range of predatory animals which is stressful or alarming to most any intruding animal. Combine these mechanisms in a unit that can be configured to fit most any need and you have a powerful pest deterrent designed to handle most any animal when set properly.

OPTIONS

We have several options to help provide the best installation for your needs.

POWER CORD EXTENDERS (33 FT and 66 FT):  We have two Extension Cords, one 33 feet long and one 66 feet long, which will allow you to extend the length of the power line leading from the AC power supply to the device.

If you plan on using the unit outside and would like to power it by the included AC power supply, DO NOT keep the power supply outside as this will cause it to burn out when subjected to the sun, rain or cold.

** DO NOT USE THE INCLUDED POWER SUPPLY AT THE END OF MORE THAN 10 FEET OF EXTENSION CORD AS THIS WILL CAUSE A CHANGE IN VOLTAGE THAT REACHES THE POWER SUPPLY LEADING TO IT BURNING OUT **

But you can run power cord extensions up to 500 feet to reach the unit. These cables can also be buried as long as you seal the connectors with a waterproof tape or glue (plain silicone will do).

CIGARETTE LIGHTER POWER CORD and ALLIGATOR CLIP POWER CORD:  Cigarette Power Cord useful for when you need to deploy a machine and have access to a car’s interior cigarette lighter port. This will plug into any standard cigarette lighter and using the battery of the vehicle, will power the sound repeller. This will use the car’s battery so you should only do this if you’re driving the car a few times every week to ensure the battery stays charged. The second power supply cord features heavy duty alligator clips so you can power the unit with any standard deep cycle marine type battery. The life of the battery will vary depending on the settings for the unit, how large the battery is you use and how often the unit goes off. FAQ on

Q: Do I need to buy a wireless remote or does one come with the unit?  A: One is included.

Q: What is the effective range of the remote? A: 20-30 feet

Q: Will it control the unit through the wall or glass window? A: Maybe. Since the thickness of both walls and glass varies, we can’t say it will work through your walls or glass but in general, if the unit is within 20 feet or less of the remote, it can reach the repeller through glass.

Q: Is the battery for the remote easy to replace? A: Yes. And we recommend changing it if you find the remote’s signal to be on the weak side. Often times a fresh battery will give just enough power so it can transmit through glass or walls.

Q: What if the remote isn’t strong enough for my needs? A: Consider getting a wireless on/off power supply. These are low cost, under $20.00, and the ones we’ve seen and used have powerful transmitters. Use one by plugging your power supply into the on/off switch and then using that remote, you can effectively turn your repeller on/off from great distances. We’ve test a few and all were able to control their switch over 100 feet away.

MOUNTING BLOCKS:   Mounting blocks make installation of the sound devices easy. Featuring two 1/2″ holes on the bottom/back, the mount will slide over any standard 1/2″ pole made of plastic or steel (rebar). Blocks can hold 1 single unit or 2 units back to back. They can be angled “up” to point sound at the side of a structure or tree top.

TECH SPECS

HOW TO POWER THE UNIT:   This unit can be powered by the included AC power converter or 4 “C” batteries. If you need to power it with batteries, we suggest you use the “motion detector” setting (see below). This will allow the batteries to last 3-6 months. Running the unit set to “constant” means it will be always on so the batteries will only last a few days. If you need to set the unit to “constant” for your nuisance animal (see suggested settings below), plan on using the included power supply. Using this will cost very little per month; less than $.50 for every 30-60 days.

WIRELESS REMOTE FEATURES:  The wireless remote has 4 buttons. The top left (red) button with the picture of the person running can be used to scare large animals or people. It will turn on the ultra sound and audible sounds as well as flash the light bar when activated (NOTE: THE WHITE LIGHT BAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRONT PANEL WILL ONLY  GO OFF WHEN ITS DARK). The button to the top right is the standby control. Use this to turn the unit “off” when you’d like to go outside and not have the unit activate. The button to the bottom left hand side with the alarm will activate the ultra sound only. The button to the right side, bottom with the lightning bolt will activate the LED front panel light used to scare to nocturnal animals like deer, hogs, cats or other canines if you activate the button when its dark out.

TARGET ANIMALS:    Armadillo, Bats, Bobcats, Cats, Coyote, Dogs, Deer, Flying Squirrels, Fox, Javelina, Marmots, Mice, Pigs, Rabbits, Rats, Raccoon, Rock Chucks, Skunk, Squirrels,and Wild Hogs.

HOW ULTRA SOUND WORKS:   Its important to understand Ultra Sound does not penetrate anything solid. This means it cannot go through walls, plants, around buildings, etc. It is effective only in the area directly in front of where a unit is placed and depending on the placement and surrounding area, can protect up to 5000 sq/ft per machine.

Do not use these to protect any kind of food in the yard. Fruits and vegetables – especially those grown in the garden – will be too attractive for most any animal to ignore and they will usually forego the discomfort of sound to get a good meal if they’ve been feeding there already. But if you’re growing a new garden and want to ensure nuisance animals don’t eat your crop, install units at the beginning of the growing season to keep animals away so they’d “learn” to come around expecting to find a meal.

** SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT PETS **   The use of Ultra Sound cannot injure animals including pets. As explained above, the sounds emitted will make certain animals uncomfortable and want to move elsewhere. This happens because by nature, most any animal is “skittish” when active in a new area and sound is a sense they all use. In fact for many animals, sound is the most important sense so its critical they hear “normal” sounds. This device will release sound anything but normal. And the sounds vary. That means if you are trying to repel rats or bats and dial in that setting, dogs and cats won’t mind the sound even though they can hear it. If used in the yard, your dog or cat will no doubt detect the unit when its first installed. Most won’t care after a few seconds; others might go up to the unit to see what all the fuss is about. Remember, this is their “turf” and some pets like to know what’s going on under their nose. Two other things to remember; first, you can use the wireless remote to “disarm” the device (essentially turn it off) when pets go out. The wireless key comes with every unit and can control several. But even if you forget to turn it off, your pet will quickly learn to accept the sound and not care. Remember, this is their home and the sound arrived at a later date so it will not be perceived as a threat. This is exactly opposite for wild animals coming to your yard foraging. Second, when used inside the home, pets will not be able to detect units in the attic or crawl space since the sound cannot “go through walls”. Ultra sound is limited in strength and has no effective “penetrating” power so even the thinnest of sheet-rock will contain the sound and limit its effective range.

RANGE OF SOUND:  This will vary based on the settings. For the ultra sound waves, the impact needs “line of sight” since ultrasound does not penetrate. So for open areas, fields, etc. it will be heard up to 75 feet away and effectively protect up to 5,000 sq/ft. The audible sound is quite loud and can be heard up to 300 feet away.

MOTION DETECTOR RANGE:  This setting is adjustable with the highest setting (30) enabling it to pick up movement 50 feet away (animal size will impact performance as explained below so plan accordingly based on your target animal).

HOW TO CONFIGURE THE SETTINGS:  This unit has many options and settings. See below for the recommended setting for your target animal. The following is a brief explanation of how each setting will control the unit.

OPERATING TIME SLIDER:   Use this to configure the unit to be active any time of the day, during the night only or during daylight hours only.

ULTRASONIC SETTINGS:  By default, the unit will always a band of ultra sound when activated. Use this switch to control determine if the unit should only go off based on motion or if you want to be always on (this would be the “Constant” position). The “Cont. Sweep” means it will use both ultra sound and audible sounds when activated. When set to “always on”, the unit will be active for 20-30 seconds and then turn off for 20-30 seconds. The is the normal pattern of on/off action for this setting. During this time, the unit will release a range of ultra sound to go off so the frequency won’t always be the same. When set to “Cont. Sweep”, there will be even more of a difference in sound range as audible sounds will be worked into the mix. For all settings, the lights will not flash consistently or in a pattern; is this very much by design to keep invasive animals on edge.

MOTION SENSOR SENSITIVITY:  Use this adjustment to control how sensitive the unit will be at detecting motion. It can be dialed down so it will only go off if the target animal is inside of 5 feet. The “maximum” or most sensitive setting will enable it to be triggered by animals up to 50 feet away (this will depend on the size of the animal and how high the unit is off the ground. Small units won’t be “seen” as far away as large animals and if the device is only a few inches off the ground, it won’t be able to detect motion at its maximum range).

SONIC VOLUME:  Use this control if you would like to add sound when repelling animals. In most cases outside, this will help. When using in the home, you many want to keep the sound turned all the way down which means you won’t hear it at all. For repelling most animals in the home, the sound will not be recommended though using it can be helpful if you wanting to “hear” when animals or some kind of movement is detected by the machine.

FREQUENCY SETTING:  This control has the yellow top on the button and will allow you to turn it 180 degrees from left to right. The best position for your target animal will be listed below.

DC INPUT CONNECTION:  Plug in your AC power supply to this port if powering the unit with the included power supply.

BATTERY COMPARTMENT:  Insert 4 “C” cell batteries to this compartment taking care to point them in the right direction. And remember that once the unit has batteries, it will automatically turn on and be active unless you use the wireless remote to place it in standby mode!

DEVICE SIZE:   6.5″ wide by 5.5″ tall by 3.5 inches deep.

REPLACING BACK COVER:  This unit is considered “weatherproof”. Its not water proof so you must keep it above water when placed in the yard. The back cover fits like a tupperware cover and effectively seal the back where all the control buttons and electronic board is housed. This cover is meant to fit tight so when replacing it after making your desired settings, take care to properly affix it slowing by starting on the top two corners first. Next, slide the sides over the side housing and work both sides down leaving the corners loose until you set the mid section of the bottom. The plastic housing if flexible enough so you can press firmly on it to bend it just enough to fit inside the plastic edge of the cover. Push one corner on this way and then the second corner. You can also use a flat head screwdriver to gently bend the lip of the cover out a slight bit so it will slide over the housing. This should not be needed as long as you are strong enough to bend the edge of the unit inside the cover width. Also, seasonal temperatures can affect the way the unit fits due to humidity, temperatures, etc. Once the cover has been replaced a couple of times, it will go off and on easily.

 

 

 

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS:  The following are recommended settings and can be altered as needed.

Armadillo:   Set Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “60-80”. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit with batteries. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Badger:   Set Operating Time to “night” and the Ultrasonic to “motion sensor”. The Motion Sensor Sensitivity should be on “30” and the Sonic Volume at “80”. Frequency (yellow knob) in the middle. In general, using batteries and motion detection only will scare them away and keep them away. But if they have been super active around your property, set the on/off to “constant” for the first week and plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter. This will cause them to track elsewhere and eventually forget your land. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Barn Swallows:   You have two setting that will work on swallows targeting the side of your home. The first setup is for when you have access to power and can keep the unit powered by the included power supply. In this case, set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Keep the unit pointed at the side of your home where they’re active and this should protect it when positioned on the ground directed where they land. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up.

The second setting is for when they’re targeting a small area and you need to rely on batteries to power the unit. Set the Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when birds come within 40-50 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set at “40-60” and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. This will work immediately and if they ever return, it will promptly chase them away again when triggered. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up too so you can position units where needed.

Bats (inside attic):   Set Operating Time to “24 Hr”, Ultrasonic to “constant”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on and the Sonic Sound volume at “0-20”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be set pointing at the “A” in the word “BATS”.  Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter.

Bats (outside):   Set Operating Time to “night”, on/off to “constant”,  Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be set pointing at the “A” in the word “BATS”. Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter which will allow the ultra sound sound to be sent out all the time which is a strong deterrent to these animals.

Bear:   Set Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “60-80”. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit using batteries. Be sure to keep it 3-4 feet off the ground for the best results.

Beaver:   Beaver are super sensitive to this device and both “always on” or “motion detector” power options will work at keeping them away. There isn’t a real “best” setting as each scenario will maybe suggest one setting over another. So if you have a stand of trees you want to protect and the trees are thick, you’re probably best served by keeping the unit “always on”. This will ensure beaver won’t approach since they’ll near the unit from afar and stay clear of the protected area. If used this way, set the Operating Time to either “Night” or “24Hr”. The Ultrasonic setting would be “constant” and the Motion Sensitivity not important since the unit would be on all the time. Keep the sonic volume set at zero and the Frequency (yellow knob) in the middle. Be sure to keep it 2-3 feet off the ground using a tree or our mounting block on a stake.

Now if you have a stand of trees you want to protect which are accessible from several areas, not too thick and on a fairly flat area, using the motion detector setting could prove more effective. This would allow you to set the audible sound up high to 80-100 so when the unit was activated, it will really scare them. Plus this sound can often times be used as a way to alert you that something has set it off so you know to inspect the area. When used this way, set the Operating Time to “night” and the Ultrasonic to “motion sensor”. The Motion Sensor Sensitivity should be on “30” and the Sonic Volume up to “60-80” at least. Frequency (yellow knob) in the middle. In general, using batteries and motion detection only will scare them enough to keep them away for good. Be sure to keep units 2-3 feet off the ground mounting them on trees or using our Mounting Blocks for best results.

Birds:   You have two setting that will work for birds targeting the side of your home or out in the yard.

The first setup is best for small birds. Use this option when you have access to power and can keep the unit powered by the included power supply. In this case, set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Keep the unit pointed at the side of your home where they’re active and this should protect it when positioned on the ground directed where they land. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up.

The second setup is best used for large birds. So if you can locate the machine close to where they are congregating, you can set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when birds come within 30-40 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set at “40-60” and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. For controlling birds in small areas, this will work immediately and when they return, it will promptly chase them away when the unit is activated. This is ideal for front porches, decks, garages, trees, bushes, etc. Use the unit set on our Mounting Block pointed at the area you want protect. Remember, this protection will be directional so if you find units can protect one zone but the birds find “gaps” of open areas to infiltrate, you’ll need to fill these gaps with more units.

When chipmunk get close and trigger the unit, it will frighten them big time and in most cases, prevent them from feeling good about coming back to the area.

Deer:   Set Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “60-80”. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit using batteries. Be sure to keep it 3-4 feet off the ground for the best results.

Dogs:   Set Operating Time to any of the 3 options depending on when your target dogs are most active. If set to Motion Detector, set the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Sound to “80”.  If set to “Constant”, turn the “Sonic Volume” to the far left which will eliminate audible sound. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be set in the middle. In general, using batteries and motion detection will keep them away but you may have reason to keep the unit on all the time. Feral Cats:   You can repel cats from the yard by keeping the unit always on using the included AC power supply or by powering it with batteries set to motion sensor. When using the included AC power supply, set the Operating Time to “24 HR” and Ultrasonic to “constant”.   The Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on and the Sonic Volume should be turned all the down (to the left). Set the Frequency (yellow knob) to the middle. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

When relying on the motion sensor powered by batteries, set the Operating Time to “24 HR” and the Ultrasonic to “motion sensor”. The Motion Sensor Sensitivity should be on “30” and the Sonic Volume at “0”. The frequency (yellow knob) should be right in the middle. Just remember the range of the motion sensor is 30 feet so you should plan on having enough units in place to properly protect the yard. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Ferel Pigs:   When possible, power the units using the included AC power supply. When powering them this way, set the Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “constant”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on and the Sonic Volume set to “80-100”. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter for at least two weeks. There after, once the pigs have learned the sound will be constantly active, they will generally reroute their foraging in other directions and avoid your protected land. At this time you can turn the Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume set to “80-100” assuming you are able to continue running the unit via the AC power supply. But if you need to power the unit via batteries, set the Operating Time to “night”, the Ultrasonic to “motion detector”, the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “80-100” unless you can’t use the sonic volume. In that case, turn that dial down to “0”. The frequency volume should be set almost all the way to the left. Be sure to keep it 4-5 feet off the ground for the best results.

*** Feral Pigs that are truly wild will be skittish and afraid of this unit. Two good indicators these units will do their job is a) the Pigs are active at night only and b) the Pigs are afraid of people and in general, run when they sense any person coming near to them.

Grackles:   You have two setting that will work on grackles using your home for nesting, roosting, etc. They will also work to chase away grackles roosting or perching in trees out in the yard. The first setup is for when you have access to a wall outlet and can keep the unit powered by the included power supply. In this case, set the Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “N/A” since the unit will always be on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0” and the Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Keep the unit pointed at the side of your home where they’re trying to nest or roost like on gutters, ledges or decks. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up when placing units on the ground.

The second setting is for when you need to rely on batteries to power the unit. So when using batteries to power the unit, you’ll need to rely on the motion detector to trigger it on. You’ll want to set Operating Time to “day”, the Ultrasonic switch to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” meaning it will activate when birds come within 40-50 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set at “40-60” DB’s and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. For controlling birds roosting on trees or power lines, the unit will scare them away immediately when triggered on. This setup is ideal for front porches, decks, garages, etc too so it will work just as well compared to running them all the time. The difference is that when you run them all the time, grackles will hear the sound from afar and never come close. But when you rely on the motion detector, approaching animals will have no clue the device is around so expect to see some grackles come around until they learn what will happen. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up too as it will allow you to set up units atop 1/2″ steel or plastic stakes in the yard placed where the repeller will be most effective.

Groundhogs:   Set Operating Time to any of the 3 options depending on when your chucks are most active. If set to Motion Detector, set the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Sound to “80”.  If set to “Constant”, turn the “Sonic Volume” to the far left which will eliminate audible sound. Remember, using the included power supply with the power always on will enable the unit to cover the most area as possible. But if you don’t have a nearby outlet for power, use batteries and understand the motion sensor will only trigger when target animals come to within 30 feet of the unit. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be set in the middle regardless of the power option and in general, using batteries and motion detection will keep them away and out of the yard for good. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Ground Squirrels:   Set Operating Time to “day”, on/off to “constant”,  Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter as the ultra sound and LED going off all the time is a strong deterrent to ground squirrels and will keep them out as long as the unit is turned on. Be sure to keep it 1 foot off the ground for the best results.

Gulls:   You have two settings that will work on unwanted gulls hanging around your dock or pier. The first configuration will provide the most “power” and keep them away for areas up to 5,000 sq/ft. The first configuration will provide the most “power” and keep them away for areas up to 5,000 sq/ft. For this to work, you need to run the unit using the included power supply. If you’re heron is active during the day, set the Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity won’t matter since the unit will be always on. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  The ultra sound going off all the time is a strong deterrent and herons hearing the sound as they get near will keep flying and not land.

For this to work, set the Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when herons come within 40-50 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set as high as possible (40-60 is good, 80 even better) and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. When herons get close and trigger the unit, it will frighten them big time and in most cases, prevent them from returning. For large bodies of water, line the shore with units pointed in areas where you’ve seen them active.

**  In some cases, heron will hang around ponds throughout the night. If you suspect you have this happening, configure the unit to be on 24 hours a day. **

Iguana:   The best way to use this unit for iguana is to rely on the ultra sound “always on” setting. This means you should plan on powering it with the included power supply. So the proper setting for the unit when powered this way will be to set the Operating Time to “24 hr”, the Ultrasonic to “Constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity won’t matter since its on all the time. The frequency (yellow knob) should be set right in the middle pointing at the “B” in Birds. When iguana get within the range of the sound, it will cause them distress and they will move away and stay away. Remember, the POWER SUPPLY IS NOT WEATHERPROOF and must be kept out of the sun and rain. Use one of our extending power cords if needed to place the unit out in the yard where iguana are active but keep the power supply inside and protected.

Javelina  (Havelina):   Set Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “constant”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on and the Sonic Volume set to “80-100”. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter for at least two weeks and then running it on batteries using the “Motion Sensor” will generally work thereafter. Be sure to keep it 3-4 feet off the ground for the best results.

Now if you have otter coming around to a specific area targeting a pond or chicken coop, using the motion detector setting could prove more effective. This would allow you to set the audible sound up high to 80-100 so when the unit was activated, it will really scare them. Plus this sound can often times be used to alert you that something has set it off so you know to inspect the area. If used this way, set the Operating Time to “night” and the Ultrasonic to “motion sensor”. The Motion Sensor Sensitivity should be on “30” and the Sonic Volume at “80-100”. Frequency (yellow knob) in the middle. In general, using batteries and motion detection only will scare them away and only be needed 1-2. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Porcupine:   Set Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “60-80” if not higher. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit using batteries. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Prairie Dogs:   Set Operating Time to any of the 3 options depending on when your target prairie dogs are most active. If set to Motion Detector, set the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Sound to “80”.  If set to “Constant”, turn the “Sonic Volume” to a high level level when machines are deployed in commercial environments. For residential settings, keep the audible sound low to off by dialing the volume to the far left. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be set in the middle “rodent” setting. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

To expel and chase away animals already nesting in your yard, plan on running the unit for two weeks straight powered by the included power brick. After two weeks, you can use them powered by batteries and set to “motion detector”. But if they return, run the machines 24 hours a day to keep target animals away for good. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Keep the unit about 1 foot off the ground. Using a Mounting Block is highly suggested for this installation so units can be placed where needed.

Rock Chucks:   Set Operating Time to any of the 3 options depending on when your target rock chucks are most active. If set to Motion Detector, set the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Sound to “80”.  If set to “Constant”, turn the “Sonic Volume” to the far left which will eliminate audible sound. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be set in the middle. In general, using batteries and motion detection will keep them away and out of the yard but you may have reason to keep the unit on all the time. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Seagulls:   You have two settings that will work on unwanted gulls hanging around your dock or pier. The first configuration will provide the most “power” and keep them away for areas up to 5,000 sq/ft. For this to work, you need to run the unit using the included power supply. If the gulls are active during the day, set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity will be “N/A” since it will be always on. Typically they’ll accumulate during the night so you will most likely need to set the unit to “night” or “always” on if they can show up anytime. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  The ultra sound going off all the time is a strong deterrent and gulls hearing the sound will stay away for good.

The second configuration will work if you need to power the unit by batteries. For this to work, you’ll need to use the motion detector to turn it on (trigger it) since the batteries will go dead in no time if the unit is set to “always on”. So the proper setting for the unit when powered by batteries is to se the Operating Time to “night” (assuming this when the gulls come around), the Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when gulls come within 40-50 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set as high as possible (40-60 is good, 80 even better) and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. When the gulls get close and trigger the unit, it will frighten them big time and in most cases, prevent them from ever returning.

Skunk:   Set Operating Time to any of the 3 options depending on when your target skunks are most active. If set to Motion Detector, set the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Sound to “80”.  If set to “Constant”, turn the “Sonic Volume” to the far left which will eliminate audible sound. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be set in the middle. In general, using batteries and motion detection will keep them away and out of the yard but you may have reason to keep the unit on all the time. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Snapping Turtles:    Snapping Turtles can be repelled by running the device set to go off via the motion activated sensor. You’ll need this if they’re active day and night so set the operating time to “24 hr”, the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “60-80”. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be almost all the way to the left pointing at the word “Deer”.  You’ll need 4 “c” cell batteries to keep it running and ready to turn on when activated. Keep it 1 foot off the ground pointed at where the turtles like to graze or travel.

Squirrels (Gray)(inside attic):   Set Operating Time to “24 Hr”, Ultrasonic to “constant”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on and the Sonic Sound volume at “0-20” if this is not a problem for people in living areas. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter as the LED light going off  and the constant ultra sound pumped out is a strong deterrent to these animals.

Squirrels (Gray)(outside in the yard):   Set Operating Time to “day”, on/off to “constant”,  Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter as the ultra sound and LED going off all the time is a strong deterrent to these animals.

Swallows:   You have two setting that will work on swallows targeting the side of your home. The first setup is for when you have access to power and can keep the unit powered by the included power supply. In this case, set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Keep the unit pointed at the side of your home where they’re active and this should protect it when positioned on the ground directed where they land. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up.

The second setting is for when they’re targeting a small area and you need to rely on batteries to power the unit. Set the Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when birds come within 40-50 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set at “40-60” and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. This will work immediately and if they ever return, it will promptly chase them away again when triggered. We highly recommend getting our mounting block for this set up too so you can position units where needed

Turkey:  Set the Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when birds come within 30-50 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set at “20+” (meaning the higher the better) and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. For repelling turkeys in an area 5,000 sq/ft or less, this setting will work immediately once the unit is placed out. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Voles (in crawl spaces, attics or outbuildings):   Set Operating Time to your needs. In general, setting up a single machine per room to “24 HR” and the Ultrasonic to “constant”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since the unit will always on and the Sonic Sound volume at “0” since the ultra sound alone will be enough to drive them out of living spaces. Wild Pigs:   When possible, power the units using the included AC power supply. When powering them this way, set the Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “constant”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on and the Sonic Volume set to “80-100”. Frequency (yellow knob) almost all the way to the left. Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter for at least two weeks. There after, once the pigs have learned the sound will be constantly active, they will generally reroute their foraging in other directions and avoid your protected land. At this time you can turn the Operating Time to “night”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor”,  the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume set to “80-100” assuming you are able to continue running the unit via the AC power supply. But if you need to power the unit via batteries, set the Operating Time to “night”, the Ultrasonic to “motion detector”, the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Volume to “80-100” unless you can’t use the sonic volume. In that case, turn that dial down to “0”. The frequency volume should be set almost all the way to the left. Be sure to keep it 4-5 feet off the ground for the best results.

*** Wild Pigs that are truly wild will be skittish and afraid of this unit. Two good indicators these units will do their job is a) the Pigs are active at night only and b) the Pigs are afraid of people and in general, run when they sense any person coming near to them.

Woodchuck:   Set Operating Time to any of the 3 options depending on when your chucks are most active. If set to Motion Detector, set the Motion Sensor Sensitivity to “30” and the Sonic Sound to “80”.  If set to “Constant”, turn the “Sonic Volume” to the far left which will eliminate audible sound. Remember, using the included power supply with the power always on will enable the unit to cover the most area as possible. But if you don’t have a nearby outlet for power, use batteries and understand the motion sensor will only trigger when target animals come to within 30 feet of the unit. The Frequency (yellow knob) should be set in the middle regardless of the power option and in general, using batteries and motion detection will keep them away and out of the yard for good. Be sure to keep it 1-2 feet off the ground for the best results.

Woodpeckers:   You have two setting that will work for Woodpeckers. The first setup is for when you need to keep them off and away from the whole side of the home. So for large areas, set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “constant” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity is “N/A” since it will be always on. The Sonic Volume should be set at “0”. Frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle.  Plan on powering the unit using the included AC converter as the ultra sound and LED going off all the time is a strong deterrent to these woodpeckers. Keeping the unit pointed at the side of your home should be able to protect the whole side when positioned on the ground directed where they land.

The second setting for woodpeckers is for when they’re targeting a small area. If you can locate the machine close to this area, you can set Operating Time to “day”, Ultrasonic to “Motion Sensor” and the Motion Sensor Sensitivity “30” meaning it will activate when birds come within 30 feet of the unit. The Sonic Volume should be set at “80” and the frequency (yellow knob) should be in the middle. For controlling birds in small areas, this will work immediately.
