PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Solar powered ground stake that incorporates several features making it unique and different from other units on the market.
These features enable the stake to disturb make uncomfortable a range of animals who might want to visit the yard including:

SELF CHARGING: These units have self charging solar panels with replaceable rechargeable batteries and will require a good 1-2 days of charging prior to installation. Be sure to keep them at a sunny window as detailed in our video below. Batteries will last 1-2 yrs at least and can be replaced when worn down.
HOW TO INSTALL: The best way to get these in the ground is using our EARTH AUGER. It will drill the perfect hole for the stakes to fit snug and to the proper depth.
This short video (less than 60 seconds) explains how the Earth Auger works and we strongly suggest using one to get the repeller properly fitted in the ground.
WHEN TO INSTALL: Generally after “gassing” any tunnels or dens using our GIANT DESTROYERS. The combination of the gas fumigant in the tunnels along with these stakes running around the clock can keep the area clear.
SETTINGS: These units have three settings. When first turned on, all 3 options will be heard. When the on/off button is clicked again, only the vibration will occur and if clicked again, only the sound/ultrasound will be active. Disconnect the USB cable from the base unit to “start over” if you set them up and are unable to get the setting you desire.
Lastly, there are small LED lights that glow on the bottom side of the controller head. These lights come on at sunset and run for about 4 hours. They’re subtle in the landscape so barely detectable but let you know the units are on.
SUPPORTING VIDEO – HOW TO RESET UNIT IF IT “LOCKS” UP AND WON’T TURN ON:
DESIGN: Each unit is made with a sturdy body topped with a heavy gauge plastic/waterproof head. This head is the unit’s controller featuring a built in solar panel and solid state motherboard. The head section must be a full 1 inch above ground to prevent moisture related issues so be sure not to install them too deep and be aware they may sink over time, especially when used in loamy or soft soil. Units are fully warrantied for 6 months.
HOW TO WINTERIZE: Technically there is no winteration needed. That said, if you reside in a region that expects to have more than 1-2″ of snow, you should plan on doing one of the following.
Option 1 – remove the Solar Panel head. The top part of these repellers contains a solid state electronic board that would sustain damage if “submerged” under water or snow. So if you reside where snow is expected to be more than just a couple of inches, remove the top and store it inside until spring. The bottom half can then be placed in a zip lock baggie or some other heavy duty plastic, wrapped up to be kept air/water tight and then placed back in the ground to keep the hole in tact. If properly sealed, the bag would keep out water from the ground stake internals and come spring, you could remove the baggie, replace the head and fire them up.
Option 2 – remove the entire unit from the ground and store it inside all winter. Using a round piece of PVC, metal or wood stake the same size as the holes you made for the bottom half, you can keep the replacement “stake” in the yard during the winter and then replace the stake with the Sound Repeller next spring. Keeping the holes filled all winter insures the hole will be reusable next spring with little effort.
WHAT IF YOU RESIDE IN THE SOUTH WHERE NO SNOW IS EXPECTED BUT FREEZING TEMPS MIGHT LAST A WEEK OR TWO? Keep the units in place. Freezing temps will not impede the unit but then again, its not likely ground dwelling animals will be actively burrowing through any froze tundra. Our directions cite the units will not work well if you try to install them into frozen ground but that’s because it would be very challenging (if not impossible) to drill the proper sized holes needed if the ground is frozen where you intend on using them. For this reason we do not advise installing them when the ground is frozen. But of the ground freezes some time after units have been deployed? They’ll still work fine.

Units will work right out of the box but we suggest you let them sit in the sun for at least 2 days prior to installation. The head unit comes detached from the ground stake body so they can be laid on a window sill to collect sun easily before placing them in the yard. This will allow them to fully charge so when they’re deployed, they’ll have plenty of power to drive away nuisance animals immediately. The on board battery (a replaceable Ni-MH AA800 mAh 1.2V) will last 2+ days with no sun so if units slow or turn off, you’ll need a strong day of sunlight to get them active again but they will power back up eventually. The on board battery has an expected life of 1.5-3 yrs.

HOW TO INSTALL IN THE YARD: Once the Controller Heads are charged, chasers are ready to be deployed.
Place chaser in the ground deep enough to bury all but 1-2″ of the stake. This will keep the head unit off the ground and away from water.

To properly install units, its advised you first use a SOIL AUGER to drill holes in the ground. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUSH THE CHASER IN THE GROUND! These units are strong but not designed to handle extreme downward force.
HOW TO CONNECT CONTROLLER HEAD TO STAKE: The controller head has a power cord and quick USB coupler for easy connection.
WHERE TO INSTALL: Stakes can be used directly in mounds and dens in the yard or they can be set along property borders.
PETS: These units WILL NOT affect pets in any way. True, they may “hear” the sound released and be curious for a moment. But the most your pet might do is sniff one or two and then quickly move on. These units DO NOT send out hurtful or injury causing sound. They work because they effectively overwhelm ground dwelling creatures who rely on their ability to “hear” predators, prey and the world around them. By overwhelming them with distracting useless sound, vibration and lights that mean nothing, they become uncomfortable, insecure and feel vulnerable or cannot “hunt” with confidence. This interference will then cause them to move on and leave the treat protected area.
RATE OF APPLICATION: Each stake can cover up to 6,500 sq/ft (approximately 1/6 acre) but this will depend largely on the soil type where they reside. Soft loamy, sandy soil won’t transmit the sound waves as well compared to hard pan or clay. Obstructions like cement driveways and walkways will also take away from the effective coverage area and should be noted. So for soft sandy shoreline soil types, plan on getting 4,000-5,000 sq/ft of coverage per unit. For hard pan or dry clay soil regions, coverage can be 6,500-7,500 sq/ft.
When setting units out along property borders, plan on placing units 75 feet apart to ensure a strong “fence” is put in place.

Moles….They are in my backyard and my backyard is divided into two halves. On one side the little gummy worm things worked, but on the other they didn’t. I’m in South Florida where the soil is very sandy. Like many, I tried everything. Eventually I detected a mole on the side of the yard that I had gotten rid of them. While fixing a fence, I had to go into my neighbor’s yard and realized that he had moles and, well, they are eventually going to migrate back into my yard.
So I bought two units and was very surprised how well they worked. The jury is still out, but so far I’m very positive on how they are being effective. I purchased two more units for the other side of the yard. ! So far, this is the only thing that has worked. I also put down grub control every three months +/-.

Our association has been using these solar powered pest chasers for several years to effectively keep the Marine (aka Bufo) Toads away from our pond to reduce the population. This invasive species has no known predators and secrete a potent neurotoxin if grabbed by a dog. These stakes provide not only a vibration but also a sound and flashing lights that mimic a predator’s eyes to make the toads move away! It has also brought peaceful nights to our community – the males will chortle for hours overnight calling the females to the pond for mating!

Iguana deterrent! Had four of these working well and S FL had flooding rains – again. Most of my units submerged. Two failed – the folks at bugspray were TERRIFIC helping with troubleshooting, but to no avail – these things are not meant to submerge for hours! Order and delivery were smooth as silk. Great company on all ends!
