I’ve been using your products for years and have not needed any service so thank you so much. But I just had a baby, and she’s just 2 months old and now it’s spring and bugs are coming out. Also, my Mom is staying with us as she has some health issues. Do I need to take any extra precautions if I want to spray inside? We usually don’t but I saw a wood roach last night and now I’m freaking out. I don’t want to panic, I know your stuff works, but thought to ask before we spray. We use Bithor a lot.
So when it comes to using any insecticide in the home with children under a year old, we always suggest you ask your family doctor. Same applies with elderly residents – especially if they have some kind of health condition. On paper, there is not a lot of actual “active ingredient” being applied and why there is usually no hazard presented to mammals (people and most pets). That said, there are doctors who may say “no” due to the nature of your mother’s condition, the age of your toddler OR the formulation being applied.
Liquid treatments are usually limited to baseboards and once dry, will not be volatile so no real chance for anyone to get exposed unless they were licking or touching the baseboards excessively. But aerosols will get airborne and so they can be inhaled. This is why we recommend no pets or people around when doing treatments with anything in a can except our POWER INJECTOR which isn’t a true aerosol (and why many people use it actually).
Doctors will also commonly want to know the active ingredients being used and where you intend on treating. And if you present them with the information they request, they generally make fair decisions based on what we’ve heard. But this for you and your physicians to decide. Infants can be more sensitive to their surroundings and there could be other health concerns based on your babies history.
Now if they need any more information then you are prepared to provide, just shoot us a text and we’ll quickly respond. Our text number is above.
