I live in a house with a crawl space under it. I know people dislike when I ask how do you get rid of lizards because they eat the bugs. Well, I’m afraid of them like I am snakes and mice and I’ve run across them while mowing the lawn so my question is how to get rid of all three that’s EFFECTIVE? I need your help please!!!!!!
If you read our Lizard control article, you’ll see we list two repellents. These work instantly and will both chase away any lizard, snake or mouse in the treated area as well as keep them away for a month or longer.
So out in the yard and around the home, treatments with both PEST RID GRANULES and PEST RID SPRAY will last 60+ days (Pest Rid spray used by itself, like on the side of the home, will last 30 days but when sprayed over the granules, a lot longer).
Now in a crawl space, these treatments will last 90+ days because a crawl space is more protected compared to an outside area subject to direct sunlight and rain.
For situation, you’ll want to disperse the granules over the entire surface area of the crawl space using 1 lb per 250 sq/ft. So if your crawl space is 1,000 sq/ft, you’ll need 4 lbs which is 2 jars.
You’ll need to treat the crawl space first, before you use the spray, and before you do anything outside.
Once the granules are in place, you’ll want to spray the perimeter inside the crawl space trying to cover at least 1 foot of the foundation wall and one foot of the granules as they lay on the ground. Pest Rid spray will cover 500 feet per gallon and can be applied using any standard PUMP SPRAYER.
The quart size pictured above comes with the handy spray top but if you get the gallon jug, you’ll need a sprayer like this one to apply it.
Once the crawl space is treated, let it sit for two days before treating outside. This is to ensure any lizards or other pests in the space can escape. After two days, apply granules around the home and in the yard where you don’t want any of these pests using it at the same rate of 1 lb per 250 sq/ft. Next, spray over the top with the spray at the rate of 1 quart per 250 sq/ft. These applications will last 60+ days and should be renewed every 2-3 months. In the crawl space, treatments will last 3-4 months for sure if not longer so there won’t be any need to renew them as much. And in theory, if you keep the outside treatments going, you won’t get any in this space since they’ll stay off your home all the time.
