I’m having an issue with what’s called “Jesus Christ” lizards? I did some research on them and the common basilisk is a species of lizard in the family Corytophanidae whatever that means lol. What I do know is that they are making mess in my yard. Especially around the pool deck leaving droppings on the lawn furniture. Any suggestions?
The “Jesus Christ” lizard got its name from being able to “walk on water”. Its actually more of a “run” but they can move across the waters surface without sinking and can do so efficiently.
These are actually basilisk lizards and they can be found in several states. Commonly green or brown, they can be a nuisance. They’re known to be messy and in general, pretty fearless of people. A lot like the IGUANAS. Basilisks love hanging around Jacuzzi’s, pools or most any pond or lake.
Keep them away by sprinkling out XEMPT GRANULES and spraying with PEST AWAY.
Xempt G uses all natural ingredients at a dose Jesus lizards do not like. It has have a distinctive “wintergreen” aroma and can last up to 60 days per application. If you spray Pest Away over the granules, you’ll get 60-90 days of residual so you don’t have to spray as frequently
Xempt G is packed 4 bags to a box; each baggie is .5 lbs and will cover up to 100 sq/ft.
Once in place, spray over the top of the granule with the Pest Away.
Mix 2 oz per gallon of water and apply it using any standard PUMP SPRAYER. Each gallon will cover up to 800 sq/ft and can last 4 weeks by itself but up to 2-3 months when sprayed over the granules.
You can also spray decking, furniture legs to keep them off chairs and tables and basically anywhere above the ground where you want them to stay away. Renew the liquid once a month to make sure they don’t return.
Any pump sprayer can be used to make the application; Pest Away won’t hurt plants or the homes siding/paint and it will pose no hazard to people, pets or other wildlife.

If you’re asking about the Pest Away spray or the Xempt granules then no hazard to people or pets. The product is made will all organic essential oils extracted from plants. It repels them due to its concentration. Reptiles are put off by it since its strong and lingering. This causes them to avoid where it’s present and detectable but it won’t hurt them. And same for the spray; it harm people, birds, pets, etc. Not even plants so you can spray it most anywhere.
