I’m having an issue with Cheyletiella mites infesting my hay and bothering my rabbits. Do you have something I can use to treat our pens for cheyletiellosis? I’d like something safe enough to use on their feed hay too.
Cheyletiella mites are known to infest dogs, cats and rabbits and can thrive in hay, around the home and eventually inside living areas. More commonly known as Walking Mites, they can be We have a couple of treatments that will be safe enough to use in their pens, even on the hay they eat.
BEST MITE SPRAY FOR HAY, GRASS OR OTHER PET FOOD
MULTIPURPOSE INSECT KILLER would be the “organic” solution to treat the hay they eat.
It will kill the mites on contact and has just one day to harvest. So if you want the “safest” option, this will do the job for where they live and even what they’re eating. Use it weekly to keep them under control by adding 5 oz to a gallon of water and spraying the gallon over 500 sq/ft of surface area.
The next step “up” for the hay and where they live would be CYONARA RTS. This concentrate comes in a quart jug along with a “ready to spray” top. Simply hook it to your garden hose and you’re ready to treat.
Cyonara has 5-7 days to harvest for humans when treating veggies so let any treated hay sit for 7 days and there will be no hazard presented to your rabbits or anything else that might eat the hay.
Now if you keep the pet inside or have found a problem develop in the home from someone carrying the mites onto carpets or furniture, BITHOR SC would be your best option.
Odorless and labeled for use on carpeting and furniture, Bithor is quick acting and non-repelling so the mites won’t relocate. Bithor will quickly control any that are directly sprayed and will continue to work for several weeks. That said, plan on treating every two weeks until the problem is gone.

Treat every two week until they’re gone; it usually requires 3 treatments so one month of applications.
Mix 1 oz of Bithor in a sprayer and use the entire gallon of mixed material for every 1,000 sq/ft.
You’ll need a good PUMP SPRAYER to make the application.

Are they in the home? If so, then get the Bithor and the Mini Mister, both listed above with videos on them showing how to use each.

If the mites are outside, the 567 spray is organic and can be safely used on the rabbits food.

We have 9 cats. My husband got a promotion.. so we finally could afford to put all 9 on revolution plus… it works.. really well.. but apparently they all had Cheyletiella mite (walking dandruff) and the mites relocated into our home. My mom and husband don’t feel them.. but I do.. every one. I sweep my ceilings and walls and vacuum and spray pure hydrogen peroxide and even straight vinegar.. they have infested inside and out side and our neighbors properties. I’m going crazy I’m itching so much! I have no where I can go to get away from them! How do I treat them when they are everywhere?!!

Did you review the information above? Our Bithor is labeled for use inside and when applied in the Mini Mister, you can treat carpeting, furniture and even walls effectively. Plus the active will pose no hazard to the pets after letting it dry for 4 hours. For sure the Bithor and Mini Mister would be the way to go for now. Oh, and plan on treating rooms one at a time so you can keep the cats out while the treatments dry.
