I have millions of black ground beetles. What do I need to do to kill them? I have dogs so I am unsure what to use on my patio, flower beds and my lawn that will kill the beetles but not hurt my dogs!!
First and foremost, we don’t carry any products that will injure people, pets or the local environment. When used properly, pesticides will make your living areas safe. More info on just how safe our products are can be read online here:

Second, ground beetles can be controlled using a combination of granules and liquid spray.
First, apply MAXXTHOR GRANULES around the house using 1.2 lbs for every 1,000 sq/ft of turf. Do this once a month till the problem is gone. Usually two treatments does the trick and then using them every 3 months will stop insects from getting re-established.
Next, spray over the top with MAXXTHOR EC at the rate of 1/2 oz per 1,000 sq/ft. This will yield fast results and in most cases, one treatment will solve the problem. But to make sure they don’t come back, treat every 2-3 months.
Use a good HOSE END SPRAYER to make the application. And plan on needing two treatments to solve the problem; once a quarter applications after that to keep them from coming back.
If they’re already in the home, go with the BITHOR mixed 1 oz per gallon of water. Spray all baseboards, carpets and under appliances where you see them active.
