Hoping you guys can help. There’s a woodpecker every day damaging the side of my home with his non-stop pecking. He’s made a big enough hole so now, he’s getting inside the space behind the siding and probably using it for a nest. I’ve tried scaring him but nothing seems to make him leave. I think they’re protected so i’m not gonna hurt him.
We have a few bird chasing deterrents that should scare him off. After two weeks the active birds will usually learn to go elsewhere and so your problem should be resolved.
For this case, our SCARE SPIDER would be ideal. Just hang it above the hole a few feet so the spider is dangling just about the hole.
Birds are naturally afraid of spiders and so once its in place, the bird won’t chance coming back.
We offer these in three sizes but for a single hole, our small one will do the job. It can protect up to 200 sq/ft of home siding.
Now if they starting showing up on other sides of the home, you’ll want to get the bigger model like the 3ft wide medium or the giant 4 foot wide Large spider.
Remember, you can remove the spider after two weeks as that should be plenty of time for the active bird to find another location to nest.
If you visit our WOODPECKER CONTROL article, you’ll see we also offer a strong ULTRA SOUND REPELLER. This unit could be placed 10-15 feet away from where the woodpecker is landing and then turned on. Setting it to work during the day will usually chase them away immediately as well.
