what can I spray while waiting for your products to arrive?

I have like all your products coming BUT I ordered last night and it just now shipped so I won’t get to treat for 3 more days! These springtails are driving me crazy and I need to do something now. What do you recommend we use till your good stuff gets here?  I heard peppermint spray will chase them off? What about sevin? A few days ago they were around our back door but now we’re seeing them coming out of the baseboards along that same wall, like 10-20 feet away. I know you said not to caulk so we won’t but they just keep coming out every night when it gets dark. Is there anything good I can do for a few days that won’t mess things up?

In general, anything you would buy at a Home Depot or Lowes will kill springtails quickly BUT the active and other components of the spray will interfere with our chemicals. For this reason, we DO NOT SUGGEST you use any type of aerosol, liquid or dust to spray inside.

Now for any outside areas – like home siding – it would be fine if you wanted to spray some mixed up Sevin. MAXXTHOR will work 10x better compared to Sevin and in a similar way so using it outside before the Maxxthor arrived would be fine. You can then just spray over the top and not have any conflict. But for inside the home? It’s not the same.

So for inside, Bithor is fast acting too BUT then that part of the formulation goes away and the second active kicks in which is very stealthy (not detectable). For this reason, we always advise customers to NEVER TREAT INSIDE when waiting for Bithor. The use of any dust or spray will just work as a repellent and be detectable by the springtails. We’ve heard from customer that are sprinkling around DE Dust, Baking Soda and some who are spraying vinegar or bleach! This is all wrong and will only make matters worse. Why? Because of how the proper treatments work.

Basically BITHOR needs untreated areas to perform best. So all of these crazy home remedies do nothing other than interfere with that process. So don’t use them and if you have? Clean up the areas by removing any dust and then wiping down the areas with a damp/wet paper towel or rag.

Something else you can do is physically remove as many as you want. Use something like scotch or packing tape to press on them and pick up. Also, a strong lint roller or even a vacuum. Anything to sweep them up and off the ground is fine including a broom. Just don’t use any type of spray and you’ll be fine.
