ATTIC ANIMALS WILL MAKE A MESS!
If you had RATS, MICE, VOLES, FLYING SQUIRRELS, BATS or some other animal living in your attic, chances are high they left droppings.
Animal droppings can harbor a wide range of bacteria and virus. EVEN DROPPINGS THAT ARE OLD! For this reason, DO NOT DISTURB DRY DROPPINGS until they’ve been properly neutralized.
In the following video, you’ll see how we cleaned up a messy attic space using our line of products all listed below.
As you can see in the video, the droppings were uniformly distributed throughout the space.
WHERE WERE THE DROPPINGS?
The droppings were in a small “knee” attic space off a bedroom. Fortunately the space had a proper door and so we could get in and out as needed. The space was fitted with plywood flooring and had a few boxes and storage bins. Rodents were once active in the space including Rats, Mice, Voles, Flying Squirrels and Bats.
The animals had been trapped out almost a year ago BUT the droppings were never removed.
The space was about 15 feet long and 10 feet deep. Between the three walls, ceiling and floor, there was about 700 sq/ft of surface area we’d need to decontaminate.
HOW DID WE CLEAN UP THE DROPPINGS
The first step was to neutralize the droppings. To insure they weren’t holding virus or bacteria, we fogged with SANNI SHINE. The regular rate is about 2 oz per 500 sq/ft. Given the size of this space, we used 3 oz in 1 gallon of water.

Since the space was effectively the ceiling of an office below, using a spray could be messy and damaging if we over applied. To be safe and more thorough, we used our BUGSPRAY FOGGER to make the application. Our fogger works fast and pumped out the gallon in less than 7 minutes.

We let the space dry for a day before removing all boxes and storage bins.
Next we used an Oreck Vacuum fitted with a HEPA filter. These filters can remove very small microns of dust and contaminates. To insure the vacuum’s exhaust wouldn’t disperse harmful bacteria, we fogged the filter with Sanni Shine before using it in the attic.
After the droppings were removed, we fogged again with T.O.N. in case there of lingering urine or feces odor. Total Odor Neutralizer will remove any odor and it works immediately.

We then let the space sit a day and after careful inspection, found it clean and odor free. Lastly we installed our SOUND REPELLER to make sure no new rodents could use the space again for nests.
