I have used your roach and ant gel before and the ants really loved it. They swarmed the gel. It was gone in a day and I put out more they started to eat but by the 3rd day they were all gone. I’m assuming it got them all because I haven’t seen an ant for over a week. But I also placed some in my cabinet above the sink. Saw a small roach there but I can’t tell if the gel was eaten. It’s changed size a bit but I can’t tell. I did find 2 dead roaches on the floor close to the cabinet that’s under my sink. I sprayed that odorless kit for ants and they’re right by it so I think the spray got them so I guess that’s good. But what about the gel? Do I just leave it?
With ROACHES, it’s smart to use both the gel and the spray. This way if they aren’t eating where you placed the gel, the spray is sure to get them. That said, if they’re in your cabinets or someplace up high where you’re not spraying? The gel will get them for good because actual food will be scarce.
Furthermore, ants will attack and devour food. On the other hand, roaches are likely to nibble or barely feed at any one spot making it very hard to notice any actual feeding if you are relying on your eye’s only.
In summary, don’t think they’re not touching the gel just because you can’t “see” anything changing. Young roaches don’t actually eat food for a few weeks and so if you have young roach nymphs active, they won’t be eating the gel. And even if they are eating some, it’s tough to tell. Roaches feeding don’t devour like ants so the bait could look the same even though some roaches have been eating it.
Second, rely on both the the spray and gel to intercept all stages. Your roach nymphs don’t eat so even if there were passing right by your offer, they’d ignore it. This is why spray is needed too.
Lastly, use both the spray and gel if your goal is to get rid of the issue ASAP. On the other side, if you’re okay having an issue for a few weeks longer than you need to have them active, rely on either the gel or spray alone. Both can achieve success but in the end, it takes longer if you rely on one or the other instead of both at the same time.
