Will Daconil or Honor Guard kill Exidia glandulosa? It’s a dark green, slimy goo that grows in bundles. Looks kind of like seaweed but is more like jello. Is it a fungus or what? Before I put some money down, can you tell me if these products will kill this stuff? Thanks, Larry Kyle, TX
At this time we’re not aware of anything that includes glandulosa on the label. But we have had success using a copper based fungicide which typically works well on algae like fungus such as exidia. More information on EXIDIA GLANDULOSA along with the recommended product can be seen in this plant pathology publication from the University of Arkansas.
Now I’d send a link for the copper product that you can use to treat but we don’t have online just yet. But we offer it in a pint and a quart. Pints are $12.00; quarts are $18.00. Give us a call on our toll free and ask for “copper fungicide” and the sales representative will be able to find the product in our database.
