I’m trying to remove flying squirrels from my attic with a friend’s help. We’ve live trapped one and relocated it 15 miles away. Your Pecan Paste and Trail Scent along with sunflower seeds did the trick! We’re keeping the trap set, but so far no other squirrels – or squirrel noise.
Now I just received your Live Excluder for flying squirrels. We’re going to seal all entry points except the one they seem to be using (they chewed holes in the louvres’ screening) and mount the Excluder as per your instructions.
My question is this: How long do we need to leave the Excluder up? I imagine we could leave it up indefinitely, but if it’s no longer needed, I’d rather remove it at some point. Your web site and products are wonderful. Thanks for all the detailed info and the good packaging!
Great job on the successful trapping! Nothing more satisfying then setting a trap and catching the target animal!
Now given the circumstances, here’s what you should do.
First, continue to leave the trap out for at least 1 month after the last catch. I’m guessing it’s set somewhere inside the home so it could be deployed even longer without worry about weathering.
Second, the Excluder should be installed right away over the one main hole you know about. And though it’s great that nothing has happened for a few days, it’s way too early to seal this main hole.
So what you should do is get the Excluder in place and leave it up for at least 2 weeks. This would be the minimal time period to wait before sealing it. And if nothing happens for 2 weeks after the Excluder is installed, you can then remove it and get it sealed too.

Hope this helps and as always, we’re just a phone call away!
