spotted lanternfly eggs on my trees

Spotted Lanternfly Egg Mass

Can you tell me if these are lanternfly eggs? I found them on my home siding. Vinyl. Thought it was mold or algae but now I see them on several trees. I had hundreds of lanternflys in the yard in August but got your Maxxthor and sprayed them dead. Since then haven’t seen any until last week. This time they were on the house so I sprayed there and that’s when I noticed these flat things. There were some of the flys of them like they were feeding on it but now I think its maybe their eggs? I’m in Pennsylvania.

They look to be lanternfly egg masses for sure.

LANTERNFLYS are aggressively laying eggs now and will do this anywhere. Females aren’t really attracted to any place specific BUT they do tend to lay eggs where there has been prior activity. So if you didn’t spray the house but they were active in the yard, it’s likely they’d be around looking for new places to roost. The untreated house siding would be a viable place for them to exploit.

Lanternfly adults won’t survive the winter so the cold will kill adults and any hatched larvae/nymphs in the coming months. But those eggs sacs should be removed if possible. Scrape them off your home and trees a few days after spraying them with MAXXTHOR EC and BOOST.

Here are some adults on top of an egg mass.

Spotted Lanternfly lays eggs on tree

These sacs will stay dormant all winter and should hatch next May/June in your region. It would be wise to spray all trees and home siding, from the GUTTERS down, to prevent egg laying on the house. The best products for this will be the Maxxthor/Boost applied with our HOSE END SPRAYER.

Maxxthor with Boost can actually penetrate these sacs if enough is used but you need to let it sit for a couple of days after treatment.
