I have dots that look like black pepper, translucent hard small dots and sometimes brown dots pop up daily on my bedsheets even after I clean them off.
I itch from them even though they don’t move.
What are they?
How do I get rid of them?
Thank you!
If they’re black pepper mites, the BITHOR listed in our BLACK PEPPER MITE article will help. At least for all the carpeting or other flooring around the bed. But for the bed sheets and linens; they’ll need to be cleaned to control any that might be living in them.
But keep this in mind. Since black pepper mites will move if you watch them long enough and you say this “pest” doesn’t move? We’re not convinced that’s what you have.
In fact we can only help if we know specifically what pest you have. And since it’s not possible for us to identify most small pests from afar (via text or email), we suggest you bring samples to a local pest control service company or college with an entomology department. Either should be to tell you more useful information and with any luck, properly ID them so that we can recommend the right treatment.
We recommend this course of action because there are many different pests it could be and they all could require different products or different treatment techniques to get rid of them. And without knowing what specific pest you have? We’re literally handcuffed when it comes to making a suggestion because there is not enough information available.
Think of this way. If you went to the Dr and told him you were having stomach pain or blurred vision, he wouldn’t just prescribe a drug. He’d have to do some tests to collect your medical conditions with the goal being to learn what is at fault before he took action or prescribed drugs. And well with pest control treatments, the same is true.
Only when we know what the target pest is will we recommend what to use, where to use it and how frequently you should be applying it.
Sorry we can’t be of more help but problems like this will often require a physical inspection to be properly diagnosed.
