We get a lot of inquiries asking what the best way is to treat a yellow jacket nest thats in the ground. The most common way is to drench the nest using a mixture of CYPERMETHRIN and SPREADER STICKER as explained in our Yellow Jacket article here:

But when using the liquid treatment, you must be sure to use enough chemical. Furthermore, you must get every gallery and chamber.
You see, by design yellow jackets will build their nests to stave off floods. This means if the nest is completely built when you treat, there is a chance the drenching won’t reach every void when applied. And if you miss vital sections of the nest, the survivors will be able to rebound and survive.
To avoid this scenario, go with DRIONE DUST. Its actually easier to do, faster acting and because of the “smokey” like way Drione floats around, it will reach every chamber they’ve constructed. This insures a complete and thorough kill.

The following video demonstrates how effective dusting can be. Basically after just a 10 second treatment of Drione, this nest was completely shut down.
